GOT IT BACK

So backstory, I have 2 accounts—one personal account with my nickname + last name, while the other is a gaming/alt account with a different name but same initials as my real name. 3 days ago, I found that both accounts got suspended for account integrity when I checked Messenger after waking up from a nap.

I first opened my main account, was asked for photo verification, which I promptly accomplished. A few minutes later, I got the notice that my account was permanently disabled and can no longer be appealed.

Then I tried on my gaming account. This time, it asked me to undergo photo verification, mobile verification, and to submit a valid ID. I initially uploaded an existing photo of my government insurance ID. About 15-30 minutes later, I received an email asking me to re-upload an ID photo not from my media gallery, so I took a photo of my driver’s license and uploaded it.

I thought I had a low chance of recovering my accounts because neither matches the name on my ID, especially my alt account. But today, 3 days later, I got an email saying that the appeal was successful and to my surprise, both accounts were reinstated.

I really wanted my accounts back because my main one had chats from my father who passed a few years ago and I will also need it for the coming school year to coordinate with my son’s teacher, so this is a big relief.

I hardly post anything on both accounts and I mostly use Messenger for video-calls, around 1-2 hours daily. I’m a bit anxious now because I read that some reinstated accounts get disabled again. I now wonder what I can do differently to avoid being flagged again since I don’t even know what caused this in the first place.
