And this was without medicine yet. 🤣

I lost this fight.
I got hit alot this fight.
But It was hella fun.

Beating GSBS using Thrust stance ONLY.

I found it funny, when he teleports away and I have to close the gap to attack as I have to repeat the light - heavy combo till I get close.

And I did this whole thing like- as a gag, just fooling around, to just keep doing thrust and ended up winning 😂

Definitely made mistakes that could have been easily dodged but thats just bc im a noob. 🤣

I enjoy the sound of thrust stance see throughs. It's satisfying.

Most seethroughs I've ever done against a boss fight.

This is my first ps5 game. I haven't played any other game yet, so Im new to the whole "parry" mechanic, I didnt even know what a "souls" game was.

But Im glad my first experience of it is Wukong.
This game is so based. 🥶

Addicted to going over and over against this boss till my wife tells me to stop playing. 😂

This is by far, my best and fastest fight against GSBS at level 110. Im at 1st playthrough.

My recent rematch against Great Sage Phase 1.

Finished 1st playthrough on Sunday

Beat this boss through mostly panic dodging ans Button mashing to the brim. Who doesn't? 😭 or idk im just a noob.

Spammed rematching for 5 days, and this is the most recent one.

Some realizations:
-Without cloudstep, theres an awkward part where I have to chase him to the far side of the map.
-it can also cancel combos, this one, found it very helpful.

-this boss and most are designed with delays to counter button mashing. So i started to watch animations closely for impending attacks.

-eventually after some spamming, I just developed a sense of when to see through. Can't explain It just happens. You'll experience that too.

I still get caught in some of the combos but thats just bc im a noob. 😭

Hope you're enjoying this game too despite the stress it brings. 🫡

Personal goal: I won't progress to a new game cycle till I gitgud fighting this boss and erlang.🐒

Finally beat this guy. 😭😭😭

First Run through.

This game man, I swear- Just when I thought I got good, the next boss comes up and I feel im back to square 2.

It's not the cleanest, and still fall for most of his combos.

Im just glad he didn't steal my gourd or kick me back my stick bc that pisses me off so much. 😂

Kinda happy that I did it with spell binder too. I just can't be bothered to be casting spells or elements.

Now time to gitguuuud. ⚡️

I almost had him. 🙃

Trying out a run where I switch stances mid fight.

I tried my best but he still got 1 through. 🥲

My 80th fight with yin tiger and some rumblings.

Eversince I unlocked Zodiac, Im addicted. So much as I count how many x I've trained with him.

He is the reason why I got comfortable zooming in on enemy, teaching me timings, attack patterns, and how to execute Resolute.

After challenging him for so many times you would think I can read him like a book. Naaah son. Ik im a noob. 😭

If I compare this video to the first 20-30x I fought him, I know he taught me so much.

Personal realizations and tips fighting him:

-His existence is a skill check. Most of our spells, (Immob, pluck) he has a counter for. And doesn't work well against him.

-Observe his Dialogue,
-Observe when he disappears and says nothing.
-When he says ride with the gale, notice the movement of leaves.
-Observe the glow in his sword
-lifting of his feet when he's about to do the fire AOE slash
-His posture before unleashing a combo
-and for how many slashes or instances he will attack per combo.

These all mean something and reveal his weakness.

All of these are predictable, meaning you can plan your dodge, resolute, or assume where he is going to be next and roll away or towards. (and I still fall for it most of the time)

Ofc you will fail to dodge and get hit with a nasty grapple here and there But you will notice,

You adapt too.
You learn too.

You're heaps better than just running in circles and immobilizing enemies till kingdom come.

And you're way better at fighting than when you were before you were able to challenge him.

Hope you're enjoying the game as much as I am.

Always in progress. ⚡️

Finally beat Scorpion fr*aking Lord

What an absolute banger of a boss. I enjoyed fighting him more than the pig in the mud.

Build: Spellbinder + gore daoist equipped (more mana more dmg)

Been using and maxing immobilize since chapter 1-2, realizing I've been relying too much it, thought my mechanical skills would dull out, and switched to spellbinder eversince as much as I can and as seen fit.

What helps for me when fighting the scorpion:
-not panic dodging (which I still do at times)
-taking chances where you can see through as this gives you invulnerability window
(Like the 360 floor spin he does that is an opening)
-not panic light attacking (guilty, sometimes I just want to deal as much damage as i can when he's still, and gain focus) but pressing the light attacks every after animation/not so close together helps as you leave room for resolute.
-Do not use gourd randomly, as you see I do this alot and get hit while drinking. Ik im a noob.
-lastly, medicines, man. Take em. It's not being a wuss. It's being smart. Hahaha

Personal challenge:
Do not rely too much on immobilize and cloud step to not dull your mechanical skills. Instead, spellbinder to help sharpen timing and counter button mashing

My First run of Wukong
My First ps5 game

Enjoying a lot
Stress a lot ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

My 3 hit run with Yin fre*king Tiger. 🐅

It ain't no 0 damage run but its something. 😂

Ever since unlocking zodiac village I've been having fun challenging this guy. Im addictedddd.

Ive tried many times. My goal is to do a 0 damage run on him. So far this is the closest I've gotten to that impossible attempt.

-for a bit of story, my wife was the one who bought this PS5 a month ago. It was our first time owning our own console. My last experience is PS2.

Wukong is the first game I've ever bhought and so far its been good. Idk if it is PS5 beginner user friendly tho but here we are. 🤣😭
