And this was without medicine yet. 🤣

I lost this fight.
I got hit alot this fight.
But It was hella fun.

As a souls fan, is this game worth it?

Basically the title. I’ve been a huge souls fan and have played ds1, ds3, sekiro and elden ring all in their completion.

I tried playing Lies of P years ago when it was free on xbox game pass but it really didn’t hit the mark for me personally (I might go back)

but this game, I’ve never seen real gameplay and am curious what you guys think.

Is this the type of game that a souls player would enjoy? same mechanics (roll, parry, HARD, etc) or is this game something completely different feel wise?

After 20 Tries Finally!

Been watching some guides online and I'm guessing most secret bosses have changed their styles because he's moves always had an extra combo to his moves and was able to see through my staff stances the last quarter of his health.

But finally beating him made my Sunday! :D

Is the game still worth it chapter three onwards ?

I'm in the pagoda realm and I'm just not having fun. The game has been progressively getting worse from one chapter to the other and I'm wondering if the best is behind me. The dungeon is really bad. I fight the camera more than I fight the enemies. The curse in itself I could manage, but I legitimately cannot see most of the enemies I'm fighting because the camera will just spazz out when I'm in encounters. I'm not even getting mad, I'm just incredibly bored.

I really like the game. The boss fights are challenging enough without being frustrating. They feel rewarding when you beat them. Where the game fails is when it tries to be Dark Souls.

So I guess my question is: Is the game picking up the pace after the pagoda ? Is it worth powering through it or is it gonna be crappy dungeons like that onwards ?

I could look up a walkthrough, I know, but I really hate spoiling myself for the bosses. I like meeting them and having no idea what I'm facing for the first time.

Am i doing something wrong with resolute counterflow or is it just that inconsistent and bad?

Im in chapter 2 right now, fighting the final wolf boss right now. I unlocked Resolute counterflow a while ago and i know its stance specific. But so far the way you use this attack, the requirements you have to meet, and overall how it works, this is like one of the worst parry systems i have ever seen.

You have to be attacking to use this and you cant just randomly press heavy attack, you have to wait for your Light attack animation to finish and THEN use it. Or maybe you can use it just on the fly but so far that has NEVER Happened with me. I have always had to wait for the light attack animation to finish. Then you need a focus point to even use it. and then the follow up attack doesnt even nullify any damage. Why even give a defense system like this which is this situational.

Now sometimes when i use this, the window is either super tight or basically non existent. For some enemies i have to wait for my light attack animation to finish and then use heavy attack RIGHT before the weapon hits my face to use Counterflow, whereas sometimes the enemy just picks up his weapon and im able to perform counterflow. This parry system or whatever it is just feels too inconsistent and risky to even use. Sure it looks cool and all but thats it

What am i doing wrong. How do i use it properly without doing a simple heavy attack or do i just have to deal with it?

Is there a good guide on how "see through" actually works?

I'm on my first playthrough (currently chapter 5) and obviously getting those "see through" strikes in is amazing, but they don't seem to always work ... I'm just not sure if it's my timing, or is there a substantial amount of boss attacks that can't be seen through? I seem to often get interrupted and knocked back on a lot of bosses, I find myself not even trying to attempt it so much, which makes me feel like I'm missing out and could be playing the fights better. Any advice?

NG Yellow Loong Strategy

This is just me recapping and sharing what I did through my first play-through of Chapter 4. The Yellow Loong was just a matter of committing to a specific build/style because I tried three different methods.

For Build #1 I had initially utilized Spellbinder and stocked up on the Tiger Pills and Critical Chance booster, but got too eager at the last fifth of his health bar. Absolutely confident this could have been the winner for me if I just paced things better and dodged better!

Build #2 was trying to melt Yellow Loong's healthbar with the wolf guai transformation from Chapter 1, and well-timed use of the Pluck of Many plus the Yellow-Wind vessel to ground him when he starts that crazy diving attack. This was hard to pull off because I just couldn't pace myself well with my mana, but it had really good potential once I spread the sparks more efficiently between spells and the physical effects.

The winning build was just beefing up on my Cloud Step, and using the Yin Tiger's transformation, and a mix of Thrust Stance and Pillar Stance.

Overall, this was an exercise of patience that contrasted with Tiger Vanguard from Chapter Two. Let me know what you think if you try anything I shared, or if you have an idea on how to improve the strategy for your own game. Thanks for reading!

Hate obscure quests that need guides...

In chapter 2 and doing the Rattle quest.

Already finished the Chapter before i knew this existed. Turns out I visited the area already where the Rattle is applicable. I visited those areas before and nothing triggered. However after beating a boss and an items pops into my inventory without picking it up (it just pops in inventory after beating boss) i'm supposed to magically figure out I need to go back to random small areas that I explore do to this?

I'm enjoying the game but I don't understand why every game like this puts in non sensical random quests that give you 0 direction and can only be found out by running around literally aimlessly.

If I missed a hint that tells me about this Rattle quest... i'm curious to know which one it is.

Why does every game like this copy souls way of quests?

Finished the game.

This was the first game I finished in my entire life lol. ( I was only playing multiplayer games before)

I bought PS5 Pro a month ago and I was just busy for the last 2 weeks playing Wukong, with a total of 80 hours I finished the game with Happy true Ending.

For all the fights, I have no problem with the final bosses like Erlang and GSBS.

But I do have hard time with Hundred Eyed Daoist, Dusk Veil, the worst of them all which are newbie killer, Tiger Vanguard and White Clad Noble 😭.

Anyway, I finished the game, I don't think I'll play the New Cycle as I have several other games I need to play this summer.

For yall that just started this game, my tip, don't hurry it like me, just enjoy the ride, even tho it's impossible, but I do regret it a bit thay hurry it so much to finish it.

Have a good day yall.

Sun Wukong Armour

This is so weird but why is the Sun Wukong's armour different when we obtain it from the chest and when we obtain it from the Deer, Rhino, Mantis and Beetle? The only thing that is the same is their name. Design is different, and the ones obtained from the chest are just common items?

I wouldn't have known about the ones present in the chest but I had to go back and play a full NG++ just to get them (for Platinum).

Destined One or Sun Wukong? *spoilers*

I’ve always like the idea that memories makes the person, not materiel like flesh and bone. During the true ending when the Destined One received Sun Wukong’s memory, does he become Sun Wukong or is he still the Destined One with his memories while retaining his own identity?

Where can i find the two headed rat?

I have searched everywhere. I talked to the rats behind the wall until they now have the "Patience! Patience!" dialogue. I got all 4 captains souls to complete the quest of that guy in the cell to which he gave me the chu bai spear recipe. I defeated the boss that unlocked the doors with a seal in Pagoda. I even searched every single cell in all of Pagoda. What am i missing? Why isnt the two headed rat spawning? I checked both the cell where he is found dead in and the area where he becomes a boss. None of those areas have him. Someone pls tell me where i can find him or what am i doing wrong.
