Big aluminum box as topbox?
Looking for something around 600X400X400mm to haul large stuff. Side cases see a lot of use, but they just dont always have anough capacity. Also tie stuff down on the luggage rack/back seat all the time, but thats not allways a possibility. Thought something like this would work well since top cases are a bit on the small side.
Already have a solid base to mount it too. Would only occasionally use it, should be easy to mount quickly with some wing nuts. Would stick out behind the bike and onto the passanger seat, but not block the side cases.
Does anyone have experience with aluminum boxes as above? Reasons to maybe not use it or better alternatives? Seems like the best option to me since plastic boxes were either flimsy, not waterproof or the wrong size.
