Peak irony

Just fought a clown named "swagdaddy" who was spamming with pyra and had dogshit wifi... This game is a wonderful place sometimes

A random assortment of (mostly) minor things that I find odd or annoying

Also quick disclaimer, I know the reason for most of these is just "they needed to save time

Sonic of all characters not having a rapid jab

Kirby not copying final smashes

Wario and farting, seriously, the whole thing originated in smash as far as I'm aware. It IS very in character for him, but it's just odd that it's so fixated on to me

DK's up B not being a barrel. Like, why? I get if they didn't want his recovery to be insane, but they could also just not make it go very far or make it hard to time

Ganon still being a falcon clone, don't need to explain why rly, he's been in ever game since melee and hasn't ONCE had an original moveset

Not being able to take clips. I get that it was because there were hardware limitations and it could make the games framerate temporarily tank, but we have the switch 2 now, that really shouldn't be a problem anymore, at least for switch 2 users

Why link was updated to botw link but his moveset stayed almost identical

Why shield poking and shield shifting exist. It feels like something that would exist purely to give the competitive players something to master and help them stand out, but at the same time, this game was never meant to be competitive, it just is because it's a fighting game and every fighting game (or really any multiplayer game in general) will be competitive to some degree. Plus sakurai mentioned in the reveal trailer for air riders that he doesn't particularly like games to be overly competitive, so he really had no incentive to add things like that

Why dr mario isn't a skin. People always go "they wanted to save on development time" then cut dr mario and make him a skin. He was a waste in melee, and he only came back in ultimate because they wasted a spot in melee to say he was his own character. You could easily do the same thing with builder mario, but they made him a skin, so why not dr mario

Why do min mins arms not count as part of her hurt box

Why is ridley not a super heavy

Why did they only add alph as an alt for olimar and not the rest of his team

Why does little mac's side B not reset after you get hit???? Also why does his KO punch have SO much endlag, especially in the air. I get that it's a giga attack that pretty much always one shots you if you're like, anywhere above 20 percent, but you also don't get it that often, and it can utterly destroy your recovery sometimes

While I'm talking about little mac, why do mac players use down air when they jump while recovering? Does it give him like, a tiny bit of extra height?

Not only why does kazuya have a reflect, but why is it the strongest in the game....

Same goes for min min, why did they just tack on reflects that are just kicks to these characters?

I started thinking lately about what I want to be in the next smash game because of an instagram reel I saw, and I wondered what everyone else was hoping would or wouldn't be a feature in the next smash game

Also to clearify, I'm not talking about fighters. Fighter wishlist's are everywhere and are super boring

I wanna hear your wishlists on little details or features in the game, or maybe even really big ones. Here's a few of my own personal wants

A more stylized approach to the character art. The characters shouldn't all have the same sort of slightly grittier look for smash that they do. Bowser is a key example of this. Characters should look like they do in their games

More unique effects per character. Maybe for mario and luigi, they could get the little "Great! Excellent!" text whenever they hit combos, or "Stylish!" when they hit a spike. Kirby could have the hit sounds from his own games, maybe when he dies it plays that little sort of punch sound that Kirby games use for when he dies, stuff like that to make each character stand out more and rep their series better

A campaign mode similar to Subspace. Pretty much everyone adored subspace, and that was almost entirely because it had the coolest cutscenes for the time. Imagine getting a sort of movie like that nowadays with more characters and far superior animation

Fix quickplay. This is a big one, but quickplay is so underdeveloped and hardly accommodates for ANYTHING. Even when you apply a custom ruleset, you don't always get matched with someone who uses that ruleset. If you despise fighting certain characters, there's no way to back out of the fight without losing GSP. You can get matched with someone who has way higher GSP than you, which results in unfair matchups. I could go on but you get the idea

Fix final smashes. A lot of final smashes are so underwhelming or uncreative, or just don't fit the character. Peach and daisy are perfect examples of this. Jigglypuff would be perfect to give their final smash to, but nope. Then you've got characters who have final smashes that just look and feel kinda dinky. Like meta knight for example. His old final smash felt powerful, but now the way he hits you and the sound it makes, it just makes it feel like he's giving you a ton of paper cuts

I fucking despise when you don't get a rematch against someone who you lost to solely off of fucking up ONCE.

Like you KNOW you could have won, but you lost because you were trying to recover and forgot you didn't have your double jump, or you get a lag spike RIGHT as you're doing something vital and it fucks you, or something along those lines

Lately I've been seeing a lot of people playing like drooling toddlers for like 90% of the first stock, then like around 100% they just wake the fuck up and are sweating their entire ass off like they're several times better at the game all of a sudden

Reverse airing for anyone who don't know the lingo

How the fuck do you do that shit out of a throw???? I can do it out out of like, a dash, that's not hard, but how on earth do you move your hands fast enough to do that shit out of a throw and have it be a true combo? I tried doing it on slowed speed in training mode and still couldn't get it

He's so mind numbingly easy to play as, and on the off chance you start beating someones ass, you feel like a god at the game, but when you get your ass beat, you don't feel that bad because it's fucking little mac
