Smallrig viewfinder eyecup…
Arguably the best, and by far cheapest, upgrade to the rig. Hands down. The difference is almost laughable. Best $10 you’ll ever spend.
Sony A7iv Tamron 150-500 moon…
500mm f/8 1/125
I love this lens. Couldn’t be happier with it.
Tested out macro on random bedroom stuff and blown away by how sharp it is.
Can’t wait for a green light night in ClearOutside to getting nebulae shots.
In the market for a star tracker. What make and model do the Jedi recommend?
First time out with A7iv
Ton of cloudy weather in western Kentucky lately. Got a solid 4 hour block on ClearOutside to shoot at a spot I fish at bout an hour drive from the house. Bortle 3~4 area. The moon wasn’t on my side. By the time lighting was right, the core had gone beyond the tree line. MW shot was 160 frames at f2.8, 20 seconds, ISO1600, WB 4000K. Sony A7iv with Sony FE 20mm f1.8 G lens, K&F filter.
This is my first time shooting astrophotography with anything other than a GoPro Hero 13 Black. I was pumped with the results. The star trails pic is 310 shots at same settings. No wind that night so the water was glass. Stoked I got trails reflecting off the water.
Definitely open to any constructive feedback as I’m still learning the ropes. PhotoPills and Grok have been very helpful with the science of it.
Tried using Siril to stack but stacks came out washed out. I tried to cull any bad frames, but no luck. Ended up stacking in Affinity and doing final edits in Pixelmator Pro.
Hoping Mother Nature will calm down with all these clouds soon, but it is what it is. 🤙🏽
Skeeters 🦟👀??
At the gate in BNA. Bout to head to the falls Tuesday? How are the flying assholes? Tolerable of pack in some spray/wipes? I’m not a bug spray kinda guy but Grok said skeeters can get brutal there.
TIA 🤙🏽
