Telecaster deluxe on the cheap
I picked up a squier debut tele on prime day with the plan to mod it, and ended up doing an all-amazon build.
The overall feel of the debut is actually pretty nice, I love the matte surf green, and the plain neck.
Total costs came to about $265 cad ($190 usd) before tax and before replacing the factory strings with some flats
Carving out the new cavities wasn't too bad, just some time with the drill and chisels, but could be done better and quicker with a drill press
$150 - Squier debut tele (prime day, but you can get it used/warehouse for this price)
$50 "Ephiphone" probucker pickup set
$25 Telecaster deluxe pickguard (needed some filing to fit these pickups)
$25 Black hardtail bridge
$15 Knobs
