It was so sunny today but I didn’t realise how windy it was - so I was lucky to get this photo as most of them were a bit windswept 😂 My biggest quilt finish yet, so I’m very proud of it 🥰
Hello everyone! Another month has passed, so there’s another block of my temperature quilt to share! The temperatures where I am in New Zealand stayed relatively constant - daily high temperature was between 12 and 18 degrees Celsius.

I’m working on “Show and Tell” by Elizabeth Hartman and absolutely loving it! My precision needs some work but I’m proud of my progress thus far. These are my three blocks which will be held by the foxes.

I FINALLY used the coldest daily high colour in my temperature quilt this month (9 degrees C - which is the dark blue Kona Royal fabric). I don't think it'll make an appearance again as we are now in Spring! Can't believe I've already completed 8 blocks - only 4 more to go before I can start joining them together!

It’s winter here in NZ but I still haven’t used my two coolest colours in my temperature quilt - this is my July 2026 block. Hoping for a cold snap or two to enjoy in August 💙

I am almost at the lowest temperature of my temperature quilt - a couple more colours left to use to get to my 9 degrees Celcius lowest temperature! Absolutely loving this Koru Geese Block by Sublime Stitchery - no block is the same with the varying temperatures!

I made “There she blows” by Art East Quilting Co as my gateway into traditional piecing - a training piece, if you will, before I get into full traditionally pieced quilt patterns 🥰 All fabrics from my stash, so I’m feeling angelic 😇💁🏻♂️🤭🐳
It is certainly far from perfect but I’m pretty happy with my first attempt. I used Acorn seam align glue and the Easy Press pen which were such an incredible help, as was the wonderfully written pattern, of course!!
Not sure if I’ll incorporate this block into a larger quilt top or make a quilted cushion cover perhaps 🤔
Still on track with my temperature quilt! Although I might fall behind in June as I’m waiting on more FPP paper to arrive and it is taking a long time to reach Middle Earth!!

I am soooo here for the beautifully chilly days now that Autumn has truly arrived in New Zealand! My April 2026 block is looking quite different to my first three blocks ❤️🍂🇳🇿
