Character recommendation in MK1
Hey, just picked up MK1 yesterday and it's my first mortal Kombat game. I'm not sure how many of y'all play other fighting games because the MK community seems pretty disconnected from the broader fgc imo. I play some other fighting games like SF6, GG, and Tekken and I'm looking for characters similar to the ones I play in those games. My SF6 main is Cammy, Jam is my GG main. In Tekken I play Xiaoyu and Kunimitsu. I primarily prefer fast close range characters who can get in your face and stay in your face, or fast mid range characters with great pokes that can be converted into combos.
I tried out Mileena but her combos seem super execution heavy, I tried Kitana and I'm doing better as her being able to convert pokes into combos but apparently she's a zoner and I've been playing her as an mid range poke into combo character.
Unrelated, but is there a way to skip the Finish Him part of MK in ranked? I'd like to skip that and/or the fatality part, fatal blows themselves take way too long imo (same problem I have with sf6 supers) and adding fatality on top of that is just a huge time kill when I'd rather just move on to the next match.
