Song Contest Sunday 42 - Grand Final

Song Contest Sunday is a small song contest hosted each week, where users can share songs that will compete in the contest. For the 41st edition of SCS edition in Balzers, Lichtenstein. We've received 23 submissions. Now only 15 entries remain that could win the entire thing - the rest were eliminated in the Semifinals that happened during the last two days.

You have until Thursday 21 May 2026 at 20:00 CEST to vote in the contest. The voting itself will happen in ScoreWiz where you can drag your top 10 into order and give them points according to the normal ESC point system.

The list of participants in this contest will be commented under this post, sometime shortly after release.

The results will be announced in r/Eurovisionfancontests shortly after voting closure.

Song Contest Sunday 42 - Semifinals

wavvyboi has won SCS 41, which was hosted in Frankfurt, Germany. Because of this, we'll be going to Balzers, Lichtenstein for SCS 42. The contest will be hosted at Burg Gutenburg Balzers

In any case, we've received 23 submissions for SCS 42 and 22 will compete for 14 spots in the final. We will now decide which acts will qualify for the final via two semifinals! You can drag your 7 qualifiers from each semi into order and give them points this way and the 7 songs with the most points will qualify. We will vote with StrawPoll in the Semifinals and with ScoreWiz in the Grand Final. There will be 15 participants in the Grand Final consisting of 7 qualifiers from each Semifinal and an automatic qualifier

You have time until Monday 18.5.2026 20:00 CEST to vote in all two Semifinals and the qualifiers will be revealed on r/Eurovisionfancontests soon after.

On Sunday, the weekly Song Contest "Song Contest Sunday" will begin and you will have the chance to participate in it! Simply leave a song you like, it doesn't have to be from Eurovision, in the comments and we will add it to the lineup of Song Contest Sunday! You will be mentioned in said post so you can vote in it. This is a great opportunity to discover new songs, share songs you like, or see how much your music taste is liked!

If you can, you can also provide the following things alongside your song:

  • Link to the song
  • Share the best part of the song as a recap (ideally with timestamps, 30 seconds long)

Rules

Rule 1: No ESC Winners
Songs that won Eurovision since 1956 cannot be submitted.

Rule 2: No past SCS-entries

Songs that have already participated in SCS in the past are not allowed in the contest. Check out the SCS Wiki Page and a YouTube Playlist, which includes all the songs that have participated in SCS.

Rule 3: English Songs (Non-Bubble Artists Only)

For English songs by artists outside the Eurovision Bubble (See FAQ):

  • Over 10M YouTube subscribers? Song must have <10M views (top version).
  • Over 7M subscribers? Song must have <50M views.
  • Over 5M subscribers? Song must have <100M views.

Rule 4: Recent ESC and National Final songs

Songs that

  • Participated in the Eurovision Song Contest from 2021 onwards
  • Participated in a National Final for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2025 and 2026

are not allowed on the contest, as the majority of present users might know them already, defeating the contest's purpose of sending and discovering new music

FAQ

Can I submit songs by Eurovision artists?

Yes! We love new releases and hidden gems from Bubble artists. We discourage submitting their Eurovision song, but if the song didn’t win Eurovision then technically it’s allowed.

What is a ‘Bubble artist’?

Any Artist/Band who has competed in Eurovision or any National Selection. Aside from Rule 1, no other restrictions apply to their songs, even if the song is in English.

Why do the restrictions only apply to songs in English?

English hits are well-known in the countries most Eurovision Fans come from. Non-English songs rarely go global, so no limits.

What if the song I want to submit is only partly in English, do the restrictions still apply?

Bi-lingual/Multi-Lingual songs with English parts are not restricted as long as most of the song is not in English.

Some additional important information:

If you share multiple songs, please select only one of them to compete in Song Contest Sunday.

Covers of previously sent songs are allowed, if they are able to be looked up seperately on YouTube/Spotify etc., alongside the original song. If this is the case, the cover is allowed. Covers of Eurovision winners are forbidden.

If you share an alternative version (such as an english or live version) alongside your song, said performance will also be linked in the Song Contest Sunday post tomorrow.

Songs that are shared after the 22nd of March 00:00 CET will not be considered for SCS! Please share your songs before that point!

If you decide to participate, please note the following schedule if you'd like to follow the contest! You will also be mentioned in the post if you submit an entry, but we are not quite sure how mentioning works yet, so don't rely on it!

  • On Sunday, approx. 10:00 - 14:00 CET: Semifinals open for voting.
  • On late Monday (time specified in Semifinal-Post): Semifinal voting closure and qualifier announcement shortly after.
  • On late Tuesday (about 24h after qualifier announcement): Grand Final opens for voting
  • On late Wednesday (at about the same time on Monday and Tuesday): Voting reminder launches on r/eurovisionfancontests, noting the current amount of votes and other information.
  • On late Thursday (about 24h after voting reminder): Voting closure and results reveal.

You may host a preselection to decide your entry for SCS! But please consider the following things when doing so:

  • User preselections will not be added to community highlights.
  • User preselections for the next SCS may only be created after the result from the previous SCS have been released. If that isn't the case, your post will be removed.
  • Please comment the winner of your preselection under the SCS-Submissions post before Submission closure, or else we will not consider your entry as a part of that SCS edition!
  • It is not allowed to make a separate post for simply just advice on your entry and then select it yourself! You must declare the result of the preselection with the points you've gathered.

Good evening everyone and welcome back to Mmeowlodifesivalen, hosted at the PRT Arena! My own take on a SCS entry deletion game that follows the Melodifesivalen format

Heat 4 Results

Geese sail through to the final like sailors in a big green boat with Au Pays du Cocaine! Along with them, Antti Paalanen has frozen the competition with Alavilla Maila!

As for second chance round, two songs tied for the spot, those being Tutto Inutile and FIGLIA D' 'A TEMPESTA, I would normally break the tie but since they were so close (and personally I find having six entries in second chance rather than five more aesthetically pleasing) both entries will make it to the second chance round!

Shkodra Elektronike have won SCS 40, which was hosted in London, UK. Because of this, we'll be going to Shkoder, Albania for SCS Newbies. The contest will be hosted at MAD Summer Club

In any case, we've received 30 submissions for SCS 38. We will now decide which acts will qualify for the final via two semifinals! You can drag your 8 qualifiers from each semi into order and give them points this way and the 8 songs with the most points will qualify. We will vote with StrawPoll in the Semifinals and with ScoreWiz in the Grand Final. There will be 17 participants in the Grand Final consisting of 8 qualifiers from each Semifinal and a wildcard to the closest non-qualifier

FAQ

Can I submit songs by Eurovision artists?

Yes! We love new releases and hidden gems from Bubble artists. We discourage submitting their Eurovision song, but if the song didn’t win Eurovision then technically it’s allowed.

What is a ‘Bubble artist’?

Any Artist/Band who has competed in Eurovision or any National Selection. Aside from Rule 1, no other restrictions apply to their songs, even if the song is in English.

Why do the restrictions only apply to songs in English?

English hits are well-known in the countries most Eurovision Fans come from. Non-English songs rarely go global, so no limits.

What if the song I want to submit is only partly in English, do the restrictions still apply?

Bi-lingual/Multi-Lingual songs with English parts are not restricted as long as most of the song is not in English.

Some additional important information:

If you share multiple songs, please select only one of them to compete in Song Contest Sunday.

Covers of previously sent songs are allowed, if they are able to be looked up seperately on YouTube/Spotify etc., alongside the original song. If this is the case, the cover is allowed. Covers of Eurovision winners are forbidden.

If you share an alternative version (such as an english or live version) alongside your song, said performance will also be linked in the Song Contest Sunday post tomorrow.

Songs that are shared after the 22nd of March 00:00 CET will not be considered for SCS! Please share your songs before that point!

If you decide to participate, please note the following schedule if you'd like to follow the contest! You will also be mentioned in the post if you submit an entry, but we are not quite sure how mentioning works yet, so don't rely on it!

Now only 17 entries remain that could win the entire thing, the rest were eliminated in the Semifinals that happened during the last two days.

Every 5 editions we'll host a special edition of SCS, where all submitted songs have to abide by a certain theme. Songs that already participated in past SCS-editions can be used again in these special editions. This means you can also use past entries of other participants. (if they abide by the other rules)

However the other rules (no ESC winners and the subscriber/view limits) still apply. This special edition will have the duration of a normal SCS-Week. In the following week SCS will continue as normal with the 41st edition.

Anyway, you can have a say what theme our submissions will abide by, by suggesting theme ideas by commenting under this post! Anyone can suggest one or multiple themes. Past themes that were already used can make a return if suggested. Please include the following things in your suggestion. Put each suggestion into a separate comment:

  • A special SCS-Title for that edition which includes the theme. (example: Song Contest Sunday Anonymous)
  • Describe the theme in a bit more detail (example: users must submit songs without revealing their identity through a Google Form, and users may guess who sent what song)

You may suggest theme ideas up until the release of the SCS 35 results. The mod team will decide upon the theme sometime in between now and the beginning of the song submission period. The theme will be revealed to everyone with the release of the song submissions post.
