Song Contest Sunday 52 - Grand Final

Song Contest Sunday is a small song contest hosted each week, where users can share songs that compete. For this edition in Queens, New York, USA, we've received 43 submissions. Now only 25 entries remain that could win the entire contest; the rest were eliminated in the Semifinals that happened during the last two days.

You have until Thursday 20.08.2026 at 19:30 CET to vote in the contest. The voting itself will happen in StrawPoll, where you can drag your top 10 into order. They will then be converted to ScoreWiz, with points according to the normal ESC point system.

The list of participants in this contest will be commented under this post, sometime shortly after release.

The results will be announced in r/Eurovisionfancontests shortly after voting closure.

Cherry Bomb has won SCS 51, which was hosted in Monterrey, Mexico. Because of this, we'll be going to Queens, New York, USA for SCS 52. The contest will be hosted at Forest Hills Stadium

In any case, we've received 43 submissions for SCS 50. We will now decide which acts will qualify for the final via three semifinals! You can drag your 8 qualifiers from each semi into order and give them points this way and the 6 songs with the most points will qualify. We will vote with StrawPoll in the Semifinals and with ScoreWiz in the Grand Final. Simply leave a song you like, it doesn't have to be from Eurovision, in the comments and we will add it to the lineup of Song Contest Sunday! You will be mentioned in said post so you can vote in it. This is a great opportunity to discover new songs, share songs you like, or see how much your music taste is liked!

Rule 3: English Songs (Non-Bubble Artists Only)

For English songs by artists outside the Eurovision Bubble (See FAQ):

Over 10M YouTube subscribers? Song must have <10M views (top version).
Over 7M subscribers? Song must have <50M views.
Over 5M subscribers? Song must have <100M views.

Rule 4: Recent ESC and National Final songs

Songs that

Participated in the Eurovision Song Contest from 2021 onwards
Participated in a National Final for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2025 and 2026
Participated in a National Final for Eurovision Asia

are not allowed on the contest, as the majority of present users might know them already, defeating the contest's purpose of sending and discovering new music

FAQ

Can I submit songs by Eurovision artists?

Yes! We love new releases and hidden gems from Bubble artists. We discourage submitting their Eurovision song, but if the song didn’t win Eurovision then technically it’s allowed.

What is a ‘Bubble artist’?

Any Artist/Band who has competed in Eurovision or any National Selection. Aside from Rule 1, no other restrictions apply to their songs, even if the song is in English.

Why do the restrictions only apply to songs in English?

English hits are well-known in the countries most Eurovision Fans come from. Non-English songs rarely go global, so no limits.

What if the song I want to submit is only partly in English, do the restrictions still apply?

Bi-lingual/Multi-Lingual songs with English parts are not restricted as long as most of the song is not in English.

Some additional important information:

If you share multiple songs, please select only one of them to compete in Song Contest Sunday.

Covers of previously sent songs are allowed, if they are able to be looked up seperately on YouTube/Spotify etc., alongside the original song. If this is the case, the cover is allowed. Covers of Eurovision winners are forbidden.

If you share an alternative version (such as an english or live version) alongside your song, said performance will also be linked in the Song Contest Sunday post tomorrow.

Songs that are shared after the 22nd of March 00:00 CET will not be considered for SCS! Please share your songs before that point!

If you decide to participate, please note the following schedule if you'd like to follow the contest! You will also be mentioned in the post if you submit an entry, but we are not quite sure how mentioning works yet, so don't rely on it!

On Sunday, approx. 10:00 - 14:00 CET: Semifinals open for voting.
On late Monday (time specified in Semifinal-Post): Semifinal voting closure and qualifier announcement shortly after.
On late Tuesday (about 24h after qualifier announcement): Grand Final opens for voting
On late Wednesday (at about the same time on Monday and Tuesday): Voting reminder launches on r/eurovisionfancontests, noting the current amount of votes and other information.
On late Thursday (about 24h after voting reminder): Voting closure and results reveal.

You may host a preselection to decide your entry for SCS! But please consider the following things when doing so:

User preselections will not be added to community highlights.
User preselections for the next SCS may only be created after the result from the previous SCS have been released. If that isn't the case, your post will be removed.
Please comment the winner of your preselection under the SCS-Submissions post before Submission closure, or else we will not consider your entry as a part of that SCS edition!
It is not allowed to make a separate post for simply just advice on your entry and then select it yourself! You must declare the result of the preselection with the points you've gathered.

The Warning have won SCS All Stars 3, which was hosted in Kopavogur, Iceland. Because of this, we'll be going to Monterrey, Mexico for SCS 51. The contest will be hosted at Arena Monterrey

What is a ‘Bubble artist’?

Any Artist/Band who has competed in Eurovision or any National Selection. Aside from Rule 1, no other restrictions apply to their songs, even if the song is in English.

Why do the restrictions only apply to songs in English?

English hits are well-known in the countries most Eurovision Fans come from. Non-English songs rarely go global, so no limits.

What if the song I want to submit is only partly in English, do the restrictions still apply?

Bi-lingual/Multi-Lingual songs with English parts are not restricted as long as most of the song is not in English.

Some additional important information:

If you share multiple songs, please select only one of them to compete in Song Contest Sunday.

If you share an alternative version (such as an english or live version) alongside your song, said performance will also be linked in the Song Contest Sunday post tomorrow.

Songs that are shared after the 22nd of March 00:00 CET will not be considered for SCS! Please share your songs before that point!

On Sunday, approx. 10:00 - 14:00 CET: Semifinals open for voting.
On late Monday (time specified in Semifinal-Post): Semifinal voting closure and qualifier announcement shortly after.
On late Tuesday (about 24h after qualifier announcement): Grand Final opens for voting
On late Wednesday (at about the same time on Monday and Tuesday): Voting reminder launches on r/eurovisionfancontests, noting the current amount of votes and other information.
On late Thursday (about 24h after voting reminder): Voting closure and results reveal.

You may host a preselection to decide your entry for SCS! But please consider the following things when doing so:

User preselections will not be added to community highlights.
User preselections for the next SCS may only be created after the result from the previous SCS have been released. If that isn't the case, your post will be removed.
Please comment the winner of your preselection under the SCS-Submissions post before Submission closure, or else we will not consider your entry as a part of that SCS edition!
It is not allowed to make a separate post for simply just advice on your entry and then select it yourself! You must declare the result of the preselection with the points you've gathered.

Song Contest Sunday Second Chance - Semifinals

Florence Road have won SCS 50, which was hosted in Aktobe, Kazakhstan. Because of this, we'll be going to Bray, Ireland for SCS 50. The contest will be hosted at Mermaid County Wicklow Arts Centre

In any case, we've received 38 submissions for SCS 50. We will now decide which acts will qualify for the final via three semifinals! You can drag your 7 qualifiers from each semi into order and give them points this way and the 7 songs with the most points will qualify. We will vote with StrawPoll in the Semifinals and with ScoreWiz in the Grand Final. There will be 22 participants in the Grand Final consisting of 7 qualifiers from each semifinal and 1 wildcard!

We're back, and better than ever! (Maybe not true, it's the same as ever)

Welcome to the first edition of RuleSet SongFest's third season! We remain in Madrid, Spain as Megara won last season's Bracket Stars!

How does it work?

Each edition I will spin a wheel that contains different rules that determine what kind of songs are eligible, two will be picked and you have to submit your song based on them
SCS, OaE, Retrofest and entries from other fancontests are allowed, however, winners of either contest cannot be submitted
Akin to Odds and Ends, you can submit reserve songs in case that not enough songs are submitted (If we get 10 songs, reserves won't be used)
Each song will be representing the country its performer comes from. A country can appear twice or more.
As voted by you in a poll, rules from the last three editions of the contest will not be chosen

Song Contest Sunday 50 - Grand Final

Song Contest Sunday is a small song contest hosted each week, where users can share songs that will compete in the contest. For the 46th edition of SCS edition in Aktobe, Kazakhstan, we've received 38 submissions. Now only 23 entries remain that could win the entire thing - the rest were eliminated in the Semifinals that happened during the last two days.

You have until Thursday 23 July 2026 at 20:00 CEST to vote in the contest. The voting itself will happen in Strawpoll where you can drag your top 10 into order, then we will convert the points into the normal ESC point system using Scorewiz.

The list of participants in this contest will be commented under this post, sometime shortly after release.

The results will be announced in r/Eurovisionfancontests shortly after voting closure.

Song Contest Sunday 50 - Qualifier Announcement

For this edition of Song Contest Sunday, a mini song contest hosted each week, in Aktobe, Kazakhstan. We have received 38 submissions of which 37 had to fight for 21 qualification spots

Since yesterday, we've received 23 votes in Semifinal 1, 22 votes in Semifinal 2 and 18 in Semifinal 3, which allows us to determine the 21 qualifiers

Song Contest Sunday 50 - Semifinals

Dequine has won SCS 48, which was hosted in Zagreb, Croatia. Because of this, we'll be going to Aktobe, Kazakhstan for SCS 50. The contest will be hosted at Aktobe Regional Philharmonic named after Gaziza Zhubanova

In any case, we've received 38 submissions for SCS 50. We will now decide which acts will qualify for the final via three semifinals! You can drag your 6 qualifiers from each semi into order and give them points this way and the 6 songs with the most points will qualify. We will vote with StrawPoll in the Semifinals and with ScoreWiz in the Grand Final. There will be 22 participants in the Grand Final consisting of 7 qualifiers from each semifinal and 1 automatic qualifier!

Rule 3: English Songs (Non-Bubble Artists Only)

For English songs by artists outside the Eurovision Bubble (See FAQ):

Over 10M YouTube subscribers? Song must have <10M views (top version).
Over 7M subscribers? Song must have <50M views.
Over 5M subscribers? Song must have <100M views.

Rule 4: Recent ESC and National Final songs

Songs that

Participated in the Eurovision Song Contest from 2021 onwards
Participated in a National Final for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2025 and 2026

are not allowed on the contest, as the majority of present users might know them already, defeating the contest's purpose of sending and discovering new music

FAQ

Can I submit songs by Eurovision artists?

Yes! We love new releases and hidden gems from Bubble artists. We discourage submitting their Eurovision song, but if the song didn’t win Eurovision then technically it’s allowed.

What is a ‘Bubble artist’?

Any Artist/Band who has competed in Eurovision or any National Selection. Aside from Rule 1, no other restrictions apply to their songs, even if the song is in English.

Why do the restrictions only apply to songs in English?

English hits are well-known in the countries most Eurovision Fans come from. Non-English songs rarely go global, so no limits.

What if the song I want to submit is only partly in English, do the restrictions still apply?

Bi-lingual/Multi-Lingual songs with English parts are not restricted as long as most of the song is not in English.

Some additional important information:

If you share multiple songs, please select only one of them to compete in Song Contest Sunday.

If you share an alternative version (such as an english or live version) alongside your song, said performance will also be linked in the Song Contest Sunday post tomorrow.

Songs that are shared after the 22nd of March 00:00 CET will not be considered for SCS! Please share your songs before that point!

On Sunday, approx. 10:00 - 14:00 CET: Semifinals open for voting.
On late Monday (time specified in Semifinal-Post): Semifinal voting closure and qualifier announcement shortly after.
On late Tuesday (about 24h after qualifier announcement): Grand Final opens for voting
On late Wednesday (at about the same time on Monday and Tuesday): Voting reminder launches on r/eurovisionfancontests, noting the current amount of votes and other information.
On late Thursday (about 24h after voting reminder): Voting closure and results reveal.

You may host a preselection to decide your entry for SCS! But please consider the following things when doing so:

User preselections will not be added to community highlights.
User preselections for the next SCS may only be created after the result from the previous SCS have been released. If that isn't the case, your post will be removed.
Please comment the winner of your preselection under the SCS-Submissions post before Submission closure, or else we will not consider your entry as a part of that SCS edition!
It is not allowed to make a separate post for simply just advice on your entry and then select it yourself! You must declare the result of the preselection with the points you've gathered.
