Hello, and welcome to the 12th edition of Retrofest’s second season! This edition is being hosted in Naucalpan, Mexico, where Café Tacvba, last week’s Retrofest champion, was formed. Now, here are the rules and then we can get to selecting!

Rules:

• ⁠All entries have to have been released before January 1st, 2001, including covers (covers of songs before that date released after that date will not be accepted).

• ⁠No Eurovision entries allowed. Eurovision artists are allowed and non-winning national final entries are allowed, but if it went to Eurovision it isn’t allowed. In addition, alternate versions of ESC songs are also disallowed. However, withdrawn entries and the 1993 and 1996 prequalification NQs are allowed!

• ⁠No sending an entry twice.

• ⁠SCS, O&E, and Rulefest entries are allowed, but no winners (no Kiss Me, September, etc.), and I encourage sending songs that haven’t been to these contests.

• No “Megahits” are allowed (songs with 500M+ views on Youtube).

• There is a limit of 3 songs per country, but the country I (the host) choose doesn’t count toward the total of that country!

• Songs submitted must be about any fictional franchise. Songs that have been written outside of the franchise but then used in said franchise do not count, unless the song used is a parody.
• Songs already submitted cannot be entered again (please check the Banlist sheet on The Five Nights Song Contest Archive if you want to make sure your song hasn't been sent before).
• Covers and or Remixes of songs that were already sent are perfectly fine, as long as the Cover/Remix itself wasn't sent before.
• Soundtracks are allowed.
• There is no view/subscriber limit on songs/artists you can send.
• This one is less of a rule, but please be aware of artists you're sending. The nerdcore space unfortunately has a few bad apples, so please do your research before submitting someone!

Hello everyone and welcome to part 2 of my "wedding trilogy". Last week, we had "something old" and "something new" in each of the semis, this week "something borrowed" is the continuation of what will end in week 3 with "something blue".

RECAP

I strongly recommend watching We Got The Moves in full. This song doesn't have any two thirty second snippets that sound the same. It's at the very least very entertaining, whether it's your thing or not.

Fun fact: one of my closest friends was in the same grade as the EC drummer.

Also on another sidenote, I had Cherry Bomb planned since before All-Stars 3, the fact she just won the whole contest is a mere coincidence.

I was going to include avant toi by VITAA and Slimane but saw it had already competed in SCS.

Welcome to the sixth edition of Eurovision Country Explorer where we submit songs from a different selected country each edition.

As chosen by u/Mission-Ninja-2579, the winner of ECE Iceland, we will be exploring Iceland this time.

To help with finding Moldovan artists, I'll share a Wikipedia page and a Viberate page.

Here is a document with all eligible countries, I am willing to make changes there if enough people want me to. My hope is that if we make it through all countries, I'll host a contest with the winners from each country.

Submissions will close Friday 14 of August 2026 at 17:00 CEST. I'll try to have the voting post up on Saturday.

Rules (open to change if desired):

1:

A: a solo artist must have lived in the country for at least 5 years to be eligible

B: For collaborations between two artists, the main artist must fulfill it, they are not eligible if only the featured artist fulfills it.

C: Equal collaborations are considered duos, collaborations between three or more people are considered groups.

D: For duos, at least one of the members must fulfill A.

E: For groups, at least two members must fulfill A, if there are more than 8 simultaneous members in the group that minimum is increased to 4.

2: Eurovision songs are not allowed, but Eurovision artists are, presuming rule 1 is fulfilled.

3: National Final songs from before 2025 that placed outside the top three are allowed, presuming rule 1 is fulfilled

4: Songs that have won other fan contests on this subreddit are not eligible, but non-winning fan contest songs are allowed. I would still encourage you to submit songs that have not participated in other fan contests before.

5: Only one song by an artist can compete in any given edition and only one submission is allowed per user. These can be changed if at 5 hours before submission closure, less than 5 people have submitted.

6: The winner of an edition decides which country we will go to next. If the same person wins three or more times in a row, the privilege will go to the runner-up on the third win.

Hello, and welcome to the 11th edition of Retrofest’s second season! This edition is being hosted in Madrid, Spain, where Los Rodriguez, last week’s Retrofest champion, was formed. Now, here are the rules and then we can get to selecting!

Rules:

• ⁠All entries have to have been released before January 1st, 2001, including covers (covers of songs before that date released after that date will not be accepted).

• ⁠No Eurovision entries allowed. Eurovision artists are allowed and non-winning national final entries are allowed, but if it went to Eurovision it isn’t allowed. In addition, alternate versions of ESC songs are also disallowed. However, withdrawn entries and the 1993 and 1996 prequalification NQs are allowed!

• ⁠No sending an entry twice.

• ⁠SCS, O&E, and Rulefest entries are allowed, but no winners (no Kiss Me, September, etc.), and I encourage sending songs that haven’t been to these contests.

• No “Megahits” are allowed (songs with 500M+ views on Youtube)

• There is a limit of 3 songs per country, but the country I (the host) choose doesn’t count toward the total of that country!
