The E-5 is still a capable wildlife tool

Modern image processing and the great lenses (birds 50-200 SWD, dragonfly 14-54 II) make the E-5 still a great camera today!

Striped Condor in the evening, HAM EDDH

Once every year, the landing strips in Hamburg get maintenance and we have the opportunity to shoot some nice birds over our house due to the different flight lanes!

Only using 4/3rds lenses, what would be the sensible upgrade?

Hi lovely people of Reddit!

I shoot Olympus exclusively at the moment and not only Olympus but 4/3rds lenses exclusively shared between my E-5 and OM-D E-M1 II using an MMF-3 adapter.

I have 7-14, 14-54, 12-60, 50, 50-200, EC14, EC20, Sigma 30.

My OM-D is beginning to die (overheating, random af failures, grips fall apart) and I have come to the conclusion that it is time for a replacement.

I’m doing mainly birding, nature, macro and landscape photography these days.
I would love bird AI in my AF but I’m concerned if it works at all with my lenses as focus stacking in the E-M1 II doesn’t sadly. Also what about HHHR? I would love more resolution without a tripod from time to time when hiking.
On the topic of resolution, how does the G9 II fare with 4/3rds lenses today and how are its automatics with old glass? Is the weathersealing for the MMF-3 working with a G9 II?

I’m out and about with my cameras all the time and need them to survive any weather. So, E-M1x or OM-3 or OM1/1ii or LUMIX G9 II? I‘am a little lost at the moment.

I don’t plan on selling my lenses as they deliver quality way higher then the earned money through a sale would deliver me back.
