Anyone experiencing “hyper-realistic” states between lucid dreams and OBEs?
I’ve had several experiences lately that don’t feel like regular lucid dreams, but also not exactly like classic OBEs.
They often start from a lucid dream, then something changes and I end up in an extremely realistic environment — usually an apartment or house that feels completely physical and stable.
What’s strange is that these experiences have very specific characteristics:
- Everything feels solid, coherent and normal
- No bizarre dream logic
- Time feels slower and heavier than in regular lucid dreams
- Returning to waking consciousness also feels slow and gradual
- I often cannot fly or use “dream powers”
- Movement feels heavy, almost physical
- The environment feels independent from my imagination
- People seem autonomous and believable
- The realism is sometimes so strong that I become cautious (for example being afraid to jump from a balcony because it genuinely feels dangerous)
Most of the time, I reach this state while attempting an OBE from inside a lucid dream.
My usual method is to deliberately throw myself backward during the lucid dream, almost like letting go of the dream body.
When this happens:
- the environment often turns completely white and luminous,
- there is a transition phase,
- and then I suddenly find myself inside a fully physical-feeling body in another environment.
One time, I even had the strong impression of being inside someone else’s body while still retaining my own waking identity and memories.
Last night for example:
- I became lucid inside a dream and ended up in a completely realistic apartment. I tried to fly but couldn’t. I even hesitated to jump from the balcony because the place felt 100% real.
- Later, after re-entering the state, I found myself in a very dark environment. I repeatedly asked for “clarity” and vision. Slowly the scene appeared: another apartment, ground floor, daytime outside. I saw several young girls outside the window. They didn’t seem to see me directly, but reacted as if they noticed movement from the curtains. I tapped on the glass and even made a heart shape in the condensation so they wouldn’t get scared.
What makes these experiences different from normal lucid dreams for me:
- Much more stable
- Less fantasy-like
- Less control over the environment
- Strong sense of “being somewhere” rather than generating a dream
- Very realistic physics and perception
- Emotional tone feels calmer and more grounded
Some authors like Robert Monroe, Buhlman or Raduga seem to describe similar states, sometimes called “Locale III”, “real-time zone”, or “The Phase”.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of “Level 2” hyper-realistic state?
Especially:
- inability to fly,
- realistic physics,
- autonomous characters,
- gradual scene formation from darkness,
- and the feeling that it’s more real than a normal lucid dream?
