Anyone started a mobile business servicing assistive equipment (mobility scooters, electric beds, wheelchairs)? How did you get started?

Would love to hear from anyone who's done something similar. How did you land your first clients, what equipment did you start with, and is there anything you wish you'd known before jumping in?

If Gina gives free land to Israelis in Townsville, what happens to local property prices?

If Townsville became a major settlement location for Israelis, would that make it a geopolitical target and cause property prices to fall as residents move elsewhere? Or would economic growth outweigh those concerns?

The Netherlands has approved a 36% tax on unrealised gains. Australia next?

That means you can be taxed on increases in your shares, crypto, or investments without selling a thing or receiving a cent.

61,000 people signed a petition against it. Parliament pushed ahead anyway.

If your investments crash after you've paid the tax? Tough luck.

Albo and Jimmy taking notes? 👀

Sign of what's coming to Australia?

Looking for Mobility Scooter & Electric Bed Servicing in Brisbane

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for someone in Brisbane who can service and maintain my mobility scooter and electric adjustable bed. I'd also like to have both items test and tagged if possible.

Does anyone have recommendations for businesses or mobile technicians who provide this type of service? Preferably someone experienced with assistive technology equipment.

Thanks in advance.

How do you actually get NDIS equipment repaired when it breaks?

If something like a hoist, hospital bed, mobility scooter, shower chair, etc. breaks down, who do you contact?

Do you:

Call the supplier?

Go through your support coordinator/provider?

Find an independent technician?

Just wait for a replacement?

Also, how long does it usually take to get fixed?

I've seen a few posts about equipment delays and was curious whether repairs are generally easy to organise or if it's a pain.

Interested in hearing real experiences, especially if you've had a hoist or bed fail unexpectedly. Was getting it repaired quick, or were you left waiting for weeks?

The real recession proof investment in australia isn’t property anymore

Anyone else noticing investors pivoting from property to NDIS?

High rates, low yields, tenant protections…

Meanwhile NDIS is basically government-backed cashflow with insane hourly rates for basic services.

Owning support worker businesses is starting to look more profitable than owning rentals. Recession proof too because taxpayers fund it.

Landlord special: complimentary organic stair coating included in the lease.

Did an inspection and found “Love One” remains sprinkled all over the stairs outside.

Can’t even be mad anymore. Tenant’s out here providing complimentary organic fertiliser and weatherproof stair coating.

Might need a rent increase for the added property value. How much extra rent should I charge kings?

36% clearance rate… but keep telling me it’s a seller’s market

At this point the only thing clearing is sellers expectations. Buying now will be buying at the very top before incoming crash

Not looking for sympathy, but landlords are really the forgotten victims right now

Later that evening, I caught my renter buying generic-brand pasta.

I nearly dropped my oat milk flat white.

I explained that if he and the other renter keep refusing to spend $14 on artisanal bronze-cut linguine, the economy could collapse entirely.

He muttered something about the “cost of living.”

Classic scarcity mindset.

I told him that when I was his age, I simply skipped unnecessary luxuries like:

• medical appointments

• vegetables

• toothpaste

• children

He asked how landlords were coping in this crisis.

I had to be honest with him. I was on the verge of an emotional breakdown.

Some of them are only getting six properties approved by the bank now.

One investor had to cancel his third overseas holiday and downgrade the Tesla to the base model.

You could see the pain in his eyes.

Meanwhile, renters keep demanding “insulation” and “functional heating,” as if shelter should be comfortable.

This generation really doesn’t understand sacrifice.

Negative gearing was the only thing keeping Melbourne investors alive

Melbourne investors getting hit from every angle

High land tax. High holding costs. Now negative gearing getting gutted.

At this point Melbourne property investing is starting to look like a charity.
