Hotel or lodge recommendations with easy access to park

We’re visiting Glacier National Park in Sept with family, and are looking for hotel, lodge, or cabin recommendations near West Glacier or other areas with easy access to the park. Our budget is around $300–400 per night, and we’d prefer a kitchenette so we can prepare some meals. Family-friendly, comfortable options with minimal driving for seniors would be ideal. Open to suggestions in West Glacier, Coram, Columbia Falls, or nearby areas with easy access to park

Thanks!

EB1C - Approved EAD and AP

With approved EAD and AP and i485 pending for 180 days. Does it protect me from 60 days buffer of H1b and allows you to stay longer than 60days in case of uncertainty to find roles

EB-1C I-485 pending + layoff — anyone successfully used AC21 portability?

I’m currently on an EB-1C case with my I-140 approved and I-485 pending for almost 180 days (priority date july 2023).
If I get laid off, I understand I may still be able to stay in the U.S. using my pending I-485 EAD and potentially use AC21 portability after 180 days of I-485 pending. Is that true?

My questions for people who have actually gone through this:
Did anyone successfully port an EB-1C case after layoff?
What kind of roles did you move into (same level EM/Director vs Staff Engineer, etc.)?
How strictly did USCIS interpret “same or similar” in your case?
Did your employer withdrawal of employment affect your I-485 after 180 days?
Were there any issues at approval time (RFE, delays, or denial risk)?
Would you recommend staying on H-1B instead of switching to EAD during the transition?

Trying to understand real-world outcomes, not just policy.

Used I-485 EAD for I-9 instead of existing H4 EAD — any issues/recommendations?

My spouse recently got her I-485 EAD approved, but she also already has a valid H4 EAD.

She joined a new company recently and used the I-485 EAD for I-9 verification instead of the H4 EAD. Our green card is still pending.

Now wondering:

  • Is it generally recommended to keep using H4 EAD as long as H4 status is valid?
  • Does using the I-485 EAD for I-9 automatically affect/abandon H4 status or H4 EAD in any way?
  • Should she ask HR to update/reverify the I-9 using the H4 EAD instead?

Would appreciate hearing from anyone who faced a similar situation or got guidance from attorneys.

should I sell RSUs/stocks after 3 months to remove PMI or just invest instead?

Bought a house recently with:
$800k mortgage
10% down at closing
5.875% interest rate
PMI currently included 240 per month

Monthly mortgage payments 5600

Plan is to put another ~10% toward principal around 3 months after closing.
Now I’m debating the smartest move financially:
Option 1:
Sell stocks / RSUs and pay enough principal to hit 20% equity ASAP
Removes PMI
Lowers monthly payment if lender recasts
Less guaranteed interest paid over time
Option 2:
Still pay the extra 10%, but choose lender option that automatically reduces loan term instead of monthly payment
Keep same payment
Mortgage ends earlier
Bigger long-term interest savings
Option 3:
Do nothing for now and wait for a future refinance
Maybe rates drop later
Combine refinance + PMI removal together
Avoid paying for property revaluation/appraisal now
My lender only allows principal reset/recast twice a year
