Last arrangements - thoughts and feedback appreciated 😊💭

Today's favorite arrangement. Would love to hear your thoughts on things I might have a look at in the future to improve my game 😊

------

1 - short rose - personally I love that one because it so simple and yet soft, elegant, kinda symmetric (I'm a huge fan of symmetry) and that funky small branch in the back is a winner.

Still unsure what kind of style this would be and where to place the kenzan in the bowl.

--------

Jeeez, I feel my missing vocabulary on how to describe those arrangements, plus not knowing the names of the flowers and plants makes my descriptions rather cryptic 😬

Also noticed that I since starting withe Ikebana I look at encountered vegetation differently, paying more attention thinking about compositions, placements, durability and I love that!

Looking for beginner resources / material

Hey lovely people,

As I just started on Ikebana and already got confused about the different styles and schools, techniques, I wanted to ask if you can recommend learning materials books, podcast, videos that help people, especially those who learn better on the visual and practical side ( e.g myself 😬)

For starters I really enjoyed the ilove Ikebana videos because they were simple, well structured, short and hence just got me into actually TRYING IT - which is the most important part.

Now I feel like I'd love something with a bit more depth and detail. My brother is going to send me a book soon, which he already has, but I still wanted to ask and maybe that would be interesting for other people here as well.

If I got some money I'd also visit some courses in Berlin but atm that's not possible for me unfortunate.

Anyway, if something comes to mind, I'd be thankful if you could just post it here! Thanks 👋🌷

Why are ADHD people drawn to other ADHD people?

Heyaaa, this questions has probably been asked / answered 50 times in that SR here. If so, if be thankful for linking the discussion up.

Personally my group of friends consists out of 80% with ADHD and it is to me very obvious that all of us kinda hang with other ADHD people and are also more likely to encounter ADHS people within their social life e.g in dating.

Sometimes it feels to me that adhs people are kinda drawn together (lol, who rembers that fuked up show?) , even if they haven't like spoken or exchanged a lot of information beforehand.

I find that kind of fascinating but also confusing. Whyyy is that? What do you think? Or is that just a personal impression that I've made?

Update:

I'm completely blown away by the amount, depth and diversity of your answers. This has been my first post on this Sub and you amazing people exceeded even my wildest expectations.

On the opposite this has become A LOT to read and comprehend 😬😬😬😬😬 it will take some time to go though this. Might use AI to cluster some points here and put them below this update.

Thank you!! 🫰

One of my first arrangements

Hey there! My Ikebana journey began a few weeks ago. My brother introduced me to it, after visiting Japan. Was lovely to connect via collecting flowers and discussing arrangements together.

Hence I'd be extremely glad to receive some feedback to improve further. 💐

Anyways, I watched the tutorial from ilove Ikebana YouTube channel, since I am a visual practical learner - she called it the upright style. Is that style also called Moribana? Still confused with the amount of different styles....

I'd be also super thankful for more learning material, channels.. Best suited for me would be short video episodes 🙃

Anyway, looking forward to your thoughts and feedback.

Have a great day! 🌞
