Applying for benefits when homeless

Context: My children and I are leaving a domestic abuse situation and currently live in the British Isles but outside the UK and there is no provision (especially housing) for us here so we have no choice but to move to the UK.

We are planning to stay with a friend (currently living wlth my husband/kids' dad which is awful) but will ṃnl be able to stay for more than a few weeks as they have a council house and therefore we will be homeless (technically homeless when we get to the UK) so what should my first steps be?

I'm planning to apply for UC and PIP immediately and look for jobs but don't expect to get a job very soon due to my disabilities and the fact that my husband has prevented me from working for many years. What other help ls available and is it worth going into the job centre or do I do all of this online?
Thank you.

Moving from Isle of Man to UK and claiming UC and PIP

I'm 99% sure of this but just need to check in case i'm wrong. I've lived on the Isle of Man for 3 years and need to leave quickly (domestic abuse) so can I claim Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment (and anythlng else) immediately when I arrive in the UK?

Also, I'm getting mixed messages about whether I can get my Isle of Man DLA claim automatically transfered to PIP, or if I need to reapply, so if anyone knows about that, I would really like to know.

I have two children and don't have a job or a home in the UK so will need to get both of those sorted as soon as I arrive.

Thank you.

Can council tenants help homeless friends?

As a council tenant in England, can you let a homeless friend stay on your sofa for a few weeks without putting your tenancy or benefits at risk?
The friend has two children and needs somewhere to stay until they can gel housing as they are leaving a domestic abuse situation and while they're on the housing list, obviously that will take time.

Living on IOM after domestic abuse

Does anyone know what the options are for a family in which the husband was abusive and the wife wants to leave with the kids but has no income as he has stopped her from working?
My neighbour is in this situation and basically has nowhere to live as they haven't lived on the island for ten years so can't be accepted for housing.
Rent is so expensive and they can't afford that even if she can get a job - which may also dépend on getting a work permit.
What are people leaving domestic abuse relationships supposed to do to survive here, or are they expected to leave the island?
The husband hasn't been charged so there's no restraining order or similar options, and it seems from contact with various agencies that there's nowhere for the family to go so they have to stay with the abusive father.
