Curving out seems to be king in MSH at this point.

Better have a turn 1, 2 and 3 play ready to go or you’re toast, that’s been my experience lately anyway. I only mention this because early in the format I felt I had enough time to weather a draw with mostly turn 3 and 4 plays, but no longer!

When was the last time there was such a large gap between the best and worst archetypes in a set?

White-Blue has a 9% win rate advantage over Black-Red! I haven’t drafted long enough to have seen such a disparity and I’m curious when the last time this happened and what ended up being the overall sentiment for the set?

UW is so good in this format (MSH) that you can make horrible mistakes and still win

Like forgetting that Super Villain Lockup only targets tapped creatures, lol. I still won’t the game, but that was embarrassing!

I am doubling down on Atlantis Attacks

This card is so good, it completely flips the game every time. It’s even better when you have two to play back to back!

Was Clarion Conquer the unsung hero of this Cube?

It has a top 5 GIH win rate among creatures, higher than bombardier and Phlage even. I’m pretty sure I won every game I resolved it, as it proved very disruptive to any deck with artifacts or mana dorks.

Anyway, I bring it up because I’m not sure I ever saw much hype around it, although I could have missed it.

Are there any tricks to drafting pick 2? I’ve done great in premier, but I’m getting slammed in pick 2.

Maybe I was just tired when drafting pick 2 yesterday, but wow it seemed like the open lanes changed wildly from pick to pick and I could never just focus on two colors by pack 3. I don’t remember struggling in TMNT, but that being a smaller set maybe is the difference?

I was brain freezed two games in a row last night…

Tried one more draft to see if I could break through with some wins in Boros and I was comfortably ahead both times only to lose very unexpectedly to brain freeze, which I had rarely seen done before so successfully early in the game. Just bad luck or are combos more common this iteration cube?

I’m getting destroyed in Cube this go around, what’s working for you all if you’ve found success?

I finally just went back to Boros but even that didn’t help me much, I kept running into wrath’s…

Four turns of Karakas was too much to handle

My opponents opens with a one drop that I bounced with [[Karakas]], then shells out two pieces of power and a Karn turn 2, but alas Karaks and white weenies prevailed. If you’re out there my friend, I was ready for an epic drawn out game.

Not seen here was an earlier interaction where I exiled a token produced by Karn.

Thoughts on Witherbloom win rates - Quick draft vs Premier

I just trophied with a witherblooom deck in quick draft and dominated most games (won 7 straight after losing first game, at which point I made necessary tweaks), and couldn’t believe it’s win rate has been as low as it has been, but then noticed it’s actually tied for highest win rate in QD amongst the official archetypes. Just an effect of bots drafting, maybe? I still think it’s more solid than win rates give it credit for, if you build the deck right.

As far as building the deck right, I’ve had success going all in on mid-range with extra removal and ways to keep 3 or 4 pests on the board at all times.
