Moon Knight wakes up hours later, strapped down to a hospital bed, all of his suit except for his mask removed and replaced with a hospital gown, and a "get well soon" card with an avengers logo on it beside him, it's opened slightly, he can read the writing inside it "take a break, Marc." He scoffs. One of them came and visited him. He struggles against the bindings, trying to free himself.

"NURSE! UNTIE ME!"

He practically screams. Zodiac is after his daughter, he can't be in a hospital when it happens, and he's not going to let an Avenger order him around, never again.

Marc Spector boards a plane going to the west coast, he needs to get there before Zodiac. he gets a window seat because of course he does. He looks out and khonshu is staring back at him. Khonshu: "my son. This feels like a trap." Marc doesn't respond, he's tired. Tired of the bird, tired of always having to follow his will. Khonshu shakes his head and disappears, but even then, the moon knight is all that stares back at Marc.

He lands and makes his way towards the hideout. In every window, every mirror, every puddle, he can only see Moon Knight, not Marc Spector. He climbs a building nearby and changes before making his way to the avengers hideout. He scans his torn up ID card, fully expecting it to not work, but the door slides open and he laughs to himself

"Even years after he's left, cap stoll hasn't let them revoke my access."

He freezes. He hears Footsteps all around him, turning around he sees him. Zodiac. Surrounded by goons, not just his but the hoods too. Marc's eyes narrow as they meet zodiacs

"Terry."

Mr. Knight, having gotten all the information he could have returns to his territory, walking into Steven Grant's apartment and writing down everything he's learned. Then he leaves for patrol, as always. Who else is going to protect his congregation from the monsters of the night? Spider-man?

He perches on a rooftop and watches the people walking beneath, the ones he has sworn to protect. Safe under the eyes of Khonshu.

The Moon Knight drops down at a warehouse owned by a shell company of Steven Grant. inside he finds the briefcase where the Mr. Knight suit sits along with two silver batons and changes.

Later that night: at exactly midnight. A few criminals, working for whatever mob boss of the week, are threatening people atop a rooftop inside his territory. Without a word a baton is thrown full force at one of their heads, the luckiest one. By the end of the fight his sleeves are red, he dangles the only one left over the roof, his eyes narrowed

"Who sent you? Kingpin? Tombstone? AIM? Talk. Or I drop you."

The thug laughs and spits in his face, mocking the fist.

Goon: "you really think I'm gonna buy that s#@t? You hero types don't kill!"

The knight drops him without a second thought, shrugging at the terrified civilians

"I warned 'em."

Marc Spector sits at a cafe, two cups of coffee on the table, he's having a conversation with...someone, people are looking at him like he's crazy. They always do, hell even the avengers think it, everyone he's ever worked with has. Maybe he is, he won't deny that, but he's effective, more than any Avenger could be at least. 3:20 PM the lights begin to flicker and the god of the moon appears before his son, wearing a suit and tie.

Khonshu: "My son. You have been away for far too long, not even I could reach you. It was almost enough to make me question your loyalty."

The Bird god raises the cup to his beak and drinks, watching Marc's face intently. Marc's eyes show no fear at the words, Khonshu needs him and he knows it, still his faith won't allow him to fail his God.

"Father, I apologize, however. If you had not made me target Doom then this would have never happened."

Khonshu places his cup into the table, rising from his seat and slamming his fists into it, the moon shining in the sky above from the gods rage.

Khonshu: "You DARE accuse me of this? You let your guard down and paid the price, Spector. You failed, not me."

Marc's eyes narrow, he ignores the tantrum and takes a sip of his coffee

"You sent me after the most powerful super villain on the planet and steal what may be the only memory he has of his mother and expected there to be no retaliation."

The god looks down at his son before sitting back down, calming himself, and finishing his coffee. He speaks again, this time there is no rage in his voice, only a slight amount of fear that Marc picks up on

khonshu: "this was no work of Victor Von Doom, my son. I'd advise you to find out who attempted to interfere with my Fists work before it is too late."

And with another flicker of the lights the god disappears, leaving his fist alone at the table, yet the Moon remains shining, as if a reminder to its knight that his work is not even close to being completed

Latveria. A dictatorship ruled by the villainous doctor Doom, nemesis of doctor Reed Richards, and so called master of both technology and magic. But who could be so great if they've lost to someone who uses rodents as weapons?

Moon Knight sneaks into the Latverian embassy quite easily, there aren't many Doombots around for some reason. Doesn't matter, he's just here for that painting. He enters the "meeting room" and is greeted by a throne and relics from Doom's Victorys in the past. A piece of rock taken from the thing, one of caps shield, a broken iron man Helmet, an Ultron drones head, Cyclops visor, and right in the center, a piece of Mephisto's throne with the portrait of Cynthia von Doom behind it. He quickly grabs it, causing alarms to go off and Doombots to raise from the ground, firing at the fist of khonshu as he dashes toward the exit.

Just as he makes it out of the meeting room he's blasted by arcane energy, being sent flying out a window and into some sort of laboratory, he hides in the shadows watching as Doom descends into the room.

Marc is standing in an abandoned building, tracking zodiac when khonshu speaks to him through a statue on his shelf.

"My son. you must take the portrait of Cynthia von Doom from the Latverian embassy. It is of dire importance that you gain the attention of the fantastic four."

Marc turns around, glaring at the statue.

"You want me to steal from Doctor Doom?! Are you insane??"

Those words anger the god of the moon and khonshu reveals himself, towering over his Moon Knight.

"You dare question Khonshu? The greatest of the great gods! The one who gave you new life! The one who gave you purpose!"

The room shakes with the moon gods fury, and Marc falls to his knees.

"I'm sorry, father. I will do as you command."

Moon Knight lays in an alleyway bleeding out he knows he wouldn't make it to a hospital if he tried. So he doesn't try, instead he goes somewhere else. He goes to khonshu.

"Father...help me.. please"

He begs khonshu for aid and his prayers are answered. The god of the Moon heals its fist.amd the Moon Knight lives.

Usually Moon Knight would only come out at night but this is a special case. Vampries attacked people in the sewers under the city

Luckily for Moon Knight there's always at least 5 supervillains doing anything at any one time so there shouldn't be anyone keeping an eye out for him.

He drops into the sewers, climbing back out half an hour later covered in blood and carrying an injured worker.

Moon Knight is perched atop a rooftop, watching over the city. The moon shines in the sky, the symbol of khonshu, the greatest of the great gods, or so he claims. Marc's never been a huge fan of gods, even less so after becoming khonshu's fist.

"I've done a lot of things I'm not proud of over the years, with or without the bird watching over me. There's a reason I'm not with the Avengers anymore. They don't trust me."

Around 1 AM: Moon Knight stands on top of a building, he had gotten Intel that a group of vampires were kidnapping people around there and it was his territory, and right on time a truck came barreling down the street. Seeing it as the fastest way down he jumps off the roof he was on, gliding directly through the windshield of the truck. He's done this a hundred times by now, freaks take innocent people so he has to make sure they can't do it again. The same thing happens to these monsters.

After that he walks around the back to free the people those vampires had taken, same as every night. He grapples back up to the building he was on and sits, looking over the streets.
