So I’ve recently been thrown into the car market after my ‘22 Corolla hybrid was totaled in an accident. Long story short, I’m going with the Civic Hybrid Hatch. I’m opting for the Sport Touring and will change to the sport wheels after the fact. I’ve done as much research and homework time will allow me but, I’m out of time and need to get a car this weekend. Unfortunately I had hoped to get my Corolla deemed a total loss and a check in hand before April had ended but wasn’t able to. So can’t play the whole end of the month game. My question is this really. For a premium color ST in NY, how bad is $33.5k before tax and DMV?? I’ve only been given two quotes and the premium color came in at $33.5 and another dealer wanted $33.7 (after a $1000 “discount”) for a black one. I’ve been through as much as the forums I can find and seems like maybe this isn’t the best but not the worst either. Of course if this is the best they would do I would at least try to get some add ins at no cost to at least sweeten the deal. I know the NY tax is 8.875% but the DMV fees I’m unsure of. I also don’t know if I’ll be able to use my recently renewed registration and plates from the totaled Corolla. Anyway. Wish me luck. Thank you in advance.
