My biggest disappointment in The Sun and the Star [pjo]
Damasen. I’m still angry at how they did Damasen dirty in The Sun and the Star. Moreover, Percy and Annabeth suffered a sort of character assassination by proxy.
The two don’t acknowledge his existence at all when talking to Nico about Tartarus. They talk about Bob, obviously, but heck, even Small Bob gets mentioned as someone Nico should also save! How is it that the cat was given more importance than Damasen??? He was just as important to their survival, so it feels so out of character for Percy and Annabeth to just forget about him.
The book only gives him a passing mention later on. It’s basically just, “oh, he hasn’t regenerated yet”, when Nico and Will camp out in his empty hut.
