Why Were Golems More Expensive to Make than Warforged?

What was it about golems that made their construction so much more expensive than Warforged? They're both made of a lot of stone or metal (or both, in the case of the Warforged, in addition to wood), and I would think that Warforged would have more specialized parts, so why were the golems more expensive to make? What am I missing?

Trying to Figure Out the Right Background for My Character

So there were these two brothers, and the older one was a brilliant, if somewhat eccentric, inventor, and his younger brother was more of a loner, kind of a brawler, whose only appreciation for his brother's inventions was in their firepower, and how big of a bang they could make. The older brother was well known in Khorvaire, both for his innovative creations, and for his frequent (and not usually intended) explosions. He was wanted by one of the opposing sides in The War, so to protect him, the younger one disguised himself as his older brother and loaded himself up with some of his brother's firepower, while the older brother went into hiding. This all happened several years ago, and the younger one has been fighting in The War since, while trying to make sure no one finds out he's not really his older brother.

What kind of background would he have? I'm kind of stuck.

Edit: Edited for clarity.

How Much Would Flametouched Iron Arrows Cost?

I'm making a Silver Flame Templar character, and in the Player's Guide to Eberron, there's a section that talks about some of the equipment that a Templar is provided with, and among other things, it lists silver, cold iron, and flametouched iron arrows. I've been able to find prices for silver arrows and cold iron arrows in different things, but not really how much flametouched iron arrows would be, or if there would be a discount on them for Templars. Part of the problem is I don't know how rare flametouched iron is.

Bonus question, what would flametouched iron arrows do in 5e, if anything? I'm not sure why they originally bypassed good DR, when as far as I know, it's just speckly, but otherwise normal, iron, but if I knew why, then maybe I would have an easier time figuring out what to do with it in 5e. One person on a different post suggested that they could bypass both silver and cold iron, but I don't know if that would be balanced or not.

Converting 3.5e Silver Flame Templar supplies to 5e?

Sorry if I tagged this wrong. I wasn't sure if I should tag it as 3.5e or 5e, so I picked misc.

I was looking to make a Silver Flame Templar character, and as I was reading the lore regarding them in the Player's Guide to Eberron, there was a section that talked about some of the equipment that a Templar is provided with, and among other things, it listed silver, cold iron, and flametouched iron arrows. As far as I know, though, material based damage reduction isn't a thing in 5e, so what should I do about the arrows, while still preferably keeping the flavor and general idea of the Templar supplies?

Guild Mirandola is Leaving? No More Caminos?

I haven't been able to go to Pennsic for several years now, first because of Covid, and then because of life and scheduling difficulties, so just now I was looking at the Merchant Guide for this year to try and ease the pain of not going, at least a little, when I came across a horrible sight: Guild Mirandola saying that this is their last year!

Why? Why are they leaving? What is going on? Does that mean there won't be a castle anymore? Does that mean no more Camino? I loved Camino, and I was really hoping to do it again after things are more settled. And the castle is such an awesome part of Pennsic! It can't leave! I'm kind of panicking. And crying a little. And panicking. Does anyone know what's going on, or what will happen?

Pelt for Outlander from Eldeen Reaches?

As you know, one of the things you get from the Outlander background is a pelt. What I'd like to know is, what kind of creatures are running around the Eldeen Reaches that would make a super awesome pelt/cape type thing? Just a normal wolf or bear would be boring, but an undead or demonic creature would probably be really uncomfortable and/or unsanitary to wear. Any ideas?

Need Advice on Skirmisher Type Build. To Multiclass, or Not to Multiclass?

I'm planning on making a melee skirmisher type character, someone who can weave in and out of combat, from one opponent to the next, while also being good at scouting.

She's a Lightfoot Halfling from the Talenta Plains, and I can't decide whether I should go pure Hunter Ranger, or Multiclass with Rogue. Maybe Swashbuckler? Not Scout, though; I looked through that, and it didn't seem as good to me. And if I do multiclass, I'm not sure what the split should be. I've never multiclassed before, so any advice would be appreciated. Feral Senses seems like it would be really good, but Fancy Footwork seems really nice too.

What do you guys think?

What Kind of Name Would an Elf from the Eldeen Reaches Have?

An Aereni name? A Tairnadal name? An Aundairian name? Something else? I'm kind of drawing a blank. She's a Barbarian with the Gatekeepers, if that makes any difference.

What Kind of Herald Should I Talk to if I Want Help Coming Up With a Name?

I've been going to Pennsic since before I was born (literally), but that was pretty much it, since we didn't gave any groups nearby that did stuff. Now that I'm a bit older, though, I'd like to get more serious, and coming up with a name is a start. I have a few ideas on where I want to be from, but I'd like to be able to talk through things with someone who has knowledge of medieval names, and name variations, spellings, and pronunciations. I tried looking it up on the Aethelmearc website, but to someone whose only SCA exposure was Pennsic, it's not very intuitive. Which kind of herald would be the best person to talk to about this?

Edit: After seeing the first few replies, current circumstances prevent me from going this year, so I can't talk to anyone at Herald's Point face to face, unfortunately.

Edit 2: I've tried clicking on the links to e-mail heralds on the Aethelmearc website, but none of them are working. At least not for me. And I can't even figure out which herald would be the closest, because none of the maps work. :/

If I Want to Stick With Kanon, How Much of Forge of War Needs to be Chucked Out?

From reading his Patreon post, I know that Forge of War should be ignored when it comes to its depiction of Thrane, Wrogar's supposed alliance with the Wardens of the Woods, and the borders of Thrane and Aundair, but is there anything else that runs counter to kanon in Forge of War?

How Old Do You Think the Members of Team Prime and the Decepticons Are in Relation to Each Other?

I feel like Ratchet might be the oldest member of the team, followed by Prime, with 'Bee as the youngest, but other than that, I've got no clue, especially with the 'Cons. What do you guys think?

DnD Books

First, I would like to apologize if this is the wrong place to post this, but I'm not sure where would be the best place to do so.

I'm a very tactile person, and while I have online resources for DnD books, I vastly prefer physical ones. I've been looking for 3.5 Eberron related books, but everything on eBay and Amazon is so darn expensive, and Drivethrurpg has very limited selection for print on demand books. Are there any other places that make copies/reprints of DnD books, but with a wider selection?

Kedran d'Cannith

In Races of Eberron, it says, regarding the creation of the Warforged, that Aarren d'Cannith "...made the first breakthrough, using documents dating back to Kedran d'Cannith that some say originated in ancient Xen'drik." What I want to know is, how long ago was Kedran alive? When did he live, and where, and what was going on in the world at the time? Was it just his notes that might have come from Xen'drik, or was he in Xen'drik for some reason? I haven't been able to find mentions of him anywhere else.

I Need Help Understanding Horror.

Recently, I've started taking an interest in horror as a genre, and have found out that there are even different kinds of horror. The only problem is, I've never seen a horror movie before, or read a horror story, or even been to a sleepover with ghost stories. Which is probably for the best, since I don't want to have nightmares, or become paranoid, but now that I'm not as little as I used to be, I'd like to learn more about this new (to me) genre.

My questions are these:

  1. How many sub-genres of horror are there?
  2. What would be some good (and relatively clean) resources, movie, cartoon, or fanfiction-wise, to help me get a feel for the different kinds of horror?

What Languages Would a Medical Professional Know and Why?

I'm making a doctor-y type character, but when it comes to languages, I'm kind of stuck. Obviously he would know common, but aside from that, I'm drawing a blank. Which other languages do you guys think would be the most likely a medical type person would learn, and why?

Would It Be Too Unrealistic for Pretty Much All of the Major Players to Get a Mostly Happy Ending Eventually?

As it now stands, pretty much all of the significant characters get a more or less happy ending eventually, even if it takes centuries (and/or dying, and/or amnesia), and lots of trauma and angst, for some of them. Is that too unrealistic? I don't want to ruin immersion, but I also don't want to leave anyone without even the smallest scrap of hope to hold on to.

What Makes Ember So Appealing?

There are a lot of characters in Danny Phantom, both male and female, good and evil, young and old, etc. But out of all of them, there seems to be a disproportionate amount of enthusiasm for, and interest in, Ember, despite how infrequently she appears. Any ideas why?

The Thing That I Thought Was His Thing is Actually Only Done Once, So It's Not Really "His Thing". What Should I Do?

Without getting into specifics: So, there's this guy (J) from a show I watched, and in my story, which is canon-compliant aside from the story prompt, there was this thing that he did sometimes, and it was sort of "his thing", and it was important to a plot point in his character arc, but when I started re-watching the series, I realized that he only does "his thing" once, in the very first episode.

>!Getting into some of the Specifics: I'm working on a The Batman story where Joker gets (mentally, but not physically) cured, based on one small change in the episode "Strange Minds", and an important part of his character development arc later on involves his swingy arm thingy, but he only does that in the very first episode.!<

Now I'm not sure what to do, since it was kind of important to me that the story was canon-compliant outside of the split, but I can't think of a good substitute. What should I do?
