Anyone know the story behind it? I’ve never seen or heard of this album before

Scroll for pics of the (possible) new pot- I’ve had this snake plant for a couple of months now and I’m planning to separate some of the pups. The old pot is a self watering that i filled completely with dirt and drilled drainage holes in. I was thinking, since I’m separating the pups should I also upgrade the pot?

I am an amateur plant owner, I’ve owned a couple of spider plants, snake plants, and succulents for about a year now. I bought this cutie with plans to put it on a floating shelf with a grow light. The room I’m putting it in is bright, but I’m worried the corner will be too dark since the sunlight doesn’t reach it very well.
Some questions I have:
-should I cut off the browning leaves or let them be?
-what kind of grow light should I get?
-any other care tips?
