Snake plant isn’t snaking

Snake plant isn’t snaking

A friend gave me this plant last year and it’s never really stood up. Friend told me it was a snake plant and looked like this because (she was told) it was grown from a prop of the main plant. It used to have a couple of classic snake-type blades, but I pruned them because they weren’t looking good. Does anyone know why it is so droopy and curled in on itself? The parts I cut out were always tall and wide, but never stood tall.

Snake sits about three feet away from a south facing window and I try (super hard) not to overwater it. It gets a drink every couple of weeks if the soil is dry, about half a cup or more.

The leaves look and feel healthy, so I don’t think it’s a watering issue…maybe it’s just not meant to stand up? Or is it not a snake plant? Should I trim the leaves back to where they start to flop?

Ignore the inch plants on the left. Looking for info about Professor Snake in the green pot on the right.

Help with snake plant

What should I do with my snake plant that looks like this? Should I repot? Put in water? I went to go water it and realized that I could just pull it out of the pot. Would love some advice!

Flowers!

This is my first time seeing flowers on my snake plant! I just got back from a holiday and the sprout is out. Is it stressed? I repotted about three years ago, this is the only one that does not have a new rhizomes with pups. Normal watering/ drying with nutrients. East facing window. Is this just a happy flowering plant?

Why is she unhappy?

I have had this snake plan for nearly 10 years and have even split it up into multiple props. For some reason lately she’s very unhappy. I tried repotting it three days ago (with a mix of fresh potting soil, some stones, and a bit of succulent potting point (3-1 ratio probably)and the roots looked fine, and it was more upright but has fully wilted now. I moved in March, but I’ve moved 3 times with this plant no issue (within the same city). It gets a little less sunlight than it used to but not by much. Any tips?

HELP!

All right, so my boss knows that I love plants and yesterday she brought in her snake plant with the hope that I could help rehab it. The problem is I don’t really have an interest in snake plants and I’ve never owned one so if I could get any advice on how to help this plant out, it would be greatly appreciated. She rescued it from a fire at her job in 2002 so my reputation as someone with a green thumb as well as my job (I’m joking. She would not fire me over this) are at risk! It’s in my bathtub because when she brought it to me, the soil was bone dry, and this felt like the best place to water it, and I know it needs some better draining soil as well as a terra-cotta pot?? Literally any tips and tricks are so appreciated!!!!

My new snake plant

I bought this snake plant from a local store and I would like to ask for advice on how to keep it as healthy as possible and maybe some informations about its growth or just some general tips. Of course, I read some guides on the internet but it feels like it's too much information about types of soil, not overwatering it and so on.

I never had plants so I would like to benefit from your experiences also.

Does this one look OK? What's that little chop at the bottom?

When does it need repotting?

Thank you

Anything I can do for this guy?

I’ve had this snake plant for a while, it was a pup off of one I bought, and it has grown, but it’s so scrawny. The leaves fall over and curl at the top and they’re so skinny. Am I under watering? I try not to over water and do it probably like once a month or when it looks really dry. I just did a few days ago that’s why it might look damp in the photo. I have it in a mix of cactus and regular soil (I think? It’s been awhile) but am debating if I should replant straight into a cactus mix. I have a bag of black gold cactus and succulent mix. Or does it look ok and that’s just how it’s going to be lol?

Name Suggestions

My original snake plant that I’ve had the last 5 years has now turned into 13 plants. (The black pot has 6 and 2 of the pots have 2 each)
I named the original ‘Vincent Van Grow’ as I am an art lover and also love a good pun.

I’m looking for other unique and funny ideas for names for all my babies now.

Snake plant white stuff

Hi i’ve had trouble finding out what this is and im not sure how to fix it. The main mother plant has these white stuff with a blackspot in them and it was killing the plant. I decided to cut the rhizomes apart and left with the little one on the right (first pic).

The main plant is indoors and left beside a windowsill with afternoon sunlight. I only ever water it every 3-4 weeks when the soil is almost completely dry

There were still some of that white stuff so i dabbed a cotton bud and wipe it off myself on the spots that had it. I left it to callous and after a few days the white spots returned again.

Not really sure what this is and how i can get rid of it. I wanted to clear this up before repotting it back into soil just in case.

Any help is really appreciated 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Thripes???

Can anybody tell what’s wrong with my snake plant? This just started with the spots a week ago and now it’s turning yellow and the spots are getting bigger. I’ve had it a couple months now, it came with a brown spot but I cut it off. It’s on my patio and gets indirect medium light. I water lightly once a week and it’s in a well draining pot.

Accidentally cracked one of the leaves on my snake plant

I noticed she was leaning to the side of the pot so I tried repositioning her. In doing so, I accidentally cracked one of the leaves. It looks like a small crack. What should I do? - with the plant, lol
