The harsh truth I have found about Mercor, not sure how accurate it is, it's only my observation. But most of the time, 50-70% of the hires are already made before the job goes public on explore page. Instant Offers✨ If you saw it on the explore page, your chances are already slim. Change my mind!

Harsh Truth 2 (related to harsh truth 1): Most "high-earning" experts on Mercor, never need to apply or go to explore page. They get instant offers.

Hot Take(?): Mercor should protect their experts from the emotional rollercoasters of projects spreading contracts everywhere with huge rates, to offboard many people afterwards without any explanation. Suggestion to Mercor: instead of "Contract Offer", how about just naming it "Quiz Invitation"?

I, for my luck, wasn't a part of this mess. But I was touched by the amount of people pained by the latest big generalist expert job, giving out big promises of hourly rates, inviting over thousands of experts under the false pretense of "Contract Offer", when it's just a "Quiz Invitation" then, telling people it's taking time to "manually" grade the quizes, although clearly they're automatically graded.

I honestly also have a blame for experts who said they took vacations from their work once they received the contracts. You should be more diligent, and know the nature of the beast. Out of each 5 projects here on this platform, 1 end out to be the lucrative worth-it contract you expect it to be.

All in all, I just feel Mercror has to have better control over such situations.
