I’m kind of speechless right now. CBP is requiring IOR verification via MS Team but the freight forwarder told me that the IOR had a car accident last week and is currently in a hospital abroad. I don’t know what to say. Will CBP ask for policy report and medical records? I am sorry but if the person doesn’t make it, will CBP ask for death certificate? Will CBP ask for a photo of the body with POA next to it?

I’m so tired with all this.

I’ve been chasing CBP for detention notice for weeks. And today they told me the 6051D is uploaded in ACE. Where do I go to get that? In brokers ACE portal? I can’t see any documents uploaded by CBP in ABI, so they must mean brokers ACE portal? But I don’t know where go to in my ACE portal to see 6051D… why can’t they just email it to me ? Omg.

Does anyone know where in brokers ACE account to locate 6051Ds? Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I just want to scream. It’s been one whole day without getting any ACE responses.

Per CPSC, the CPC and GCC are to be certified by the US manufacturer or importer. I was wondering if CPSC’s definition of “importer” is the same as CBP’s.

Some shipments are customs cleared under foreign importer. Does this mean the foreign importer (often times the foreign MFG or seller) will need to certify the CPC and GCC since they are the “importer” for customs purposes?

Or should the CPSC certifier be a US entity which in this case is most likely the ultimate consignee ? But the ult cnee is not the importer….

I’m confused because it doesn’t make much sense for a foreign entity to certify CPC or GCC, but it also doesn’t sound right for the ult cnee to certify because they are not the “importer” .

Looking for some guidance…

1C was posted for 1500 pieces but the master is manifested for 1525 pieces. So of course the terminal is not showing a customs release due to piece count discrepancy.

Now the problem is , a bill of lading update to amend the piece count on my entry is being rejected because lucky for me their bond has just expired yesterday. The IOR does not want to get a new bond because they are foreign and the surety would definitely require a full collateral. This is their last shipment of the year so they do not want to spend $50k on the CTB.

I don’t know what to do here. Is there any other way to get the terminal to release the container with a piece count discrepancy in ACE?

The title should be Exportation request.

There is 1H hold but no consumption entry has been made.

The IOR wants to request export immediately.

I sent a LA TIU team an export request and they said no entry is found.

Now I’m doubting myself. I thought IE could be filed against the master BL without the need to file a consumption entry.

But then there is that 1H hold which I’m not sure changes the exploration request procedure.

Does anyone know what should be done here ? Thanks !

I found myself in a weird situation…

The cargo was released, but the entry summary was never added at the time of release. Now that I’m trying to add the entry summary, I found out the IOR has been voided, so it’s rejected.

Now I can’t get this entry onto a statement because there’s no entry summary, but the cargo has already been released, which means duties are still due.

OMG… how am I supposed to pay duties for this entry? 😩 just mail a check and a copy of the 7501 to the port?

· F865: HTS NOT ALLOWED FOR IMPORTER

One or more tariff numbers transmitted in the AE is not eligible for the submitted Importer of Record.

I’ve used Roanoke for almost 10 years now but their respond time has been too slow recently, and their collateral requirements are getting out of control.

I’m looking at switching surety. Other than IBM and Avalon, what other insurance companies are you guys using? Any of them could still write foreign bonds without collateral?
