Original root/Flow /Great Mantra/Divine art.

This is my third post about Original Flow/Root and Divine Art. Let's get into it.

Seo Eun-hyun calls it Original Flow. Silver Basket calls it Root. Hong Fan calls it Great Mantra. The novel makes it clear these are all the same thing.

>!(Chapter 762) "Divine Arts, in the end, are called by names such as Root or Original Flow."!<

>!"Divine Art is Original Flow."!<

What original root/flow is >!(Chapter 762) "If a cultivation system is a 'process,' then this Original Flow is the 'result'."!<

Think of it this way. Every cultivation path Heaven, Earth, Heart, Primordial Origin is just a road, a method. Original Flow is not another road. It is where every road eventually ends. It is the deepest truth of what a being fundamentally is. A Divine Art is simply that truth finally taking form. >!You don't create your Divine Art. You arrive at it.!< >!That's exactly what happens in Chapter 804 when Seo Eun-hyun realizes Story's End before the final clash. He didn't invent anything. After 2999 regressions, every connection, every story witnessed he simply finally arrived at what his entire existence had always been pointing toward.!<

The condition for taking Root The author answered this directly in a Q&A:

Q.What is the standard for distinguishing someone who has taken Root. What is the minimum strength of a being who has taken root?

A. "Regardless of strength, the standard for judgement is whether one has the qualifications for creating a world with completely different laws."

Strength doesn't matter. The only threshold is whether the truth of what you are runs deep enough that you could become a law-giver of an entirely new reality.

This is why Seo Eun-hyun openly admits Story's End might lose to Silver Basket's Divine Art of Awakening in raw power and it doesn't matter. Power was never the point. Both he and Hong Fan had taken Root. The final battle was two complete truths meeting each other.

Why Hong Fan lost.

Hong Fan Divine Art was fully formed. But his Root was built on fate, control, and a predetermined ending. What it could never account for was genuine feeling. And at the very last moment, he closed his eyes by his own will. Nobody forced him. Story's End didn't overpower his Divine Art. It found the exact crack his own Root couldn't hold. That's why the weakest dull sword beat the strongest swift sword.

So to summarize Original Flow / Root / Divine Art are the same thing, just different names. It is the deepest truth of what a being is, taken to its full conclusion. Taking Root has nothing to do with strength, but whether your truth can create a world with entirely different laws. You don't create your Divine Art, you arrive at it. >!The final battle wasn't a power clash, it was two truths meeting, and one betrayed itself!<

I know that there's deeper reasoning behind it but the Old man spent years tormenting a child as a side effect of wanting to influence her father's path. She was innocent in all of this and had to suffer through it from teens into her adulthood. The power imbalance alone is insane we're talking about a being of immeasurable age vs. a literal kid. Old man could've found literally any other approach.

I'll be honest I might be misremembering some details so please correct me gently 😭.

This contains spoilers from the side stories

There is something about Kim Yeon that I did not fully articulate in my previous post. Something that makes everything I said about her neglect even worse when you sit with it.

Kim Yeon >!loses her ability to speak!< the moment she receives the Liberation Law Talent.

Let that sink in.

The moment she receives the her second greatest power in the story, a talent that surpasses even its creator, that carries the echoes of the Mad Lord's life work (heart) and Buk Hyang-hwa's heart, that holds the key to a civilization theme billions of years in the making, she>!loses her voice.!<

Her greatest gift and her greatest limitation arrive at the exact same moment.

And she only regains it near the before the final arc or in the final arc of the story. (I don't remember clearly)

Which means almost half her entire journey happens in silence.

– What That Actually Means

Dialogue is one of the primary ways a story conveys thought, emotion and intention. By removing her voice the story removes her most direct form of expression.

A silent character can work. But only if the story compensates by showing internal thoughts, giving meaningful POV and emphasizing her actions with proper weight.

Kim Yeon does not get that compensation.

Instead we get minimal POV, key achievements summarized and important details explained outside the main text in Q&As.

So her silence does not come across as intentional depth. It comes across as absence.

– Golden Nature Makes It Worse

Her true name revealed in the side stories is >!金然 — Golden Nature.!<

Which represents calm, refinement, composure and emotional control.

So what do we end up with?

A character who is narratively silenced by the Liberation Law Talent and conceptually restrained by Golden Nature.

That is a double limitation pushing in the exact same direction, less dialogue, less emotional display, less internal exposure.

And here is what makes it painful

Golden Nature was not something imposed on her from outside. She built it. When you cannot speak the only thing you can control is how you carry yourself. How you move. What your actions communicate when your words cannot.

Golden Nature was her adaptation to her own silence. Her way of existing with dignity inside a limitation she did not choose.

That is not a character flaw. That is one of the most quietly remarkable things about her. And the story never showed it properly.

– What I think the Author Was Trying to Do

To be fair there is a clear thematic idea underneath all of this.

External silence — she cannot speak. Internal refinement — Golden Nature.

Together they create a character meant to express herself through actions not words. And to an extent it works. She advances civilization. She supports others without imposing herself. She fulfills her role without hesitation or complaint.

But here is the problem;

The story shows the actions without showing the mind behind them.

We see what she does. We never properly see what it costs her.

Why This Makes Everything Worse

Golden Nature does not fix her lack of development. It highlights it.

Because now we know the author had a clear concept for her. He consistently wrote her as restrained and composed. He gave her a name that means Golden Nature and a power that took her voice.

And still did not explore her thoughts, show her internal conflict or give her the narrative focus she deserved.

So instead of feeling like a refined quiet character with enormous depth underneath,

She ends up feeling like a character the story does not let speak or fully show.

–The Real Tragedy

Kim Yeon was silenced twice.

Once by the Liberation Law Talent taking her voice.

Once by an author who had everything he needed to show us what was happening inside her silence and chose not to.

Too much restraint. Not enough revelation.

She deserved both her voice and her story.

Tremendous gave her neither.

The Author Failed Kim Yeon. Not the Other way around.

I need to get this off my chest. People call Kim Yeon a bum. A poorly written character. And I used to half believe it because the novel gave me no reason not to. But that is exactly the problem. The novel. Not her. Tremendous failed her. And I am going to show you exactly how.

– The Civilization Advancement Thread

The author confirmed in a Q&A that if the Mad Lord had become a Supreme Deity his title would have been the Owner of Civilization. Kim Yeon inherited an upgraded version of his talent the Liberation Law Talent, which surpasses his Extraordinary Pattern Law Talent entirely.

Then there is the Liberation Supreme Deity. A being who spent billions of years in the Liberation Peach Garden trying to make civilization advance. He never succeeded.

Kim Yeon, his indirect successor through that talent, actually initializes the conditions for civilization to advance inside the Unruly Realm. She lays the foundation. It works. Sal Tree Heavenly Venerable hijacks the process and accelerates it but the foundation she laid is what made it possible. Then before the final fight she does it again, leading the creation of countries from Earth.

The most significant achievement tied to the story's central civilization theme. Carried out twice by the same character.

Summarized both times. No POV. No exploration of how she accomplished what a deity level being could not in billions of years. Just moved past like a footnote.

– Her Power Was Never Properly Explained In The Novel

For the entire story readers assumed Kim Yeon was drawing primarily from the Vast Cold Realm. That is what the text kept referencing. That became the community's understanding of her.

The actual truth is that her power is a three layer synergy the Liberation Law Talent pseudo absolute fragment, her base absolute fragment, and the Vast Cold inheritance working together.

How do we know this? A Q&A. Not the novel. A Q&A.

Readers spent the entire story with a fundamentally incomplete picture of her power. Then called her weak based on that incomplete picture. The fandom was not wrong to reach that conclusion, they were working with what they were given. But what they were given was never the full truth.

That is on Tremendous. Not on her. Not on us.

– Her Enders Authority

This one genuinely frustrates me the most conceptually.

I want to be upfront, I initially thought her Enders authority required her to reach Heavenly King before she could use it. I was wrong. And understanding what it actually requires makes it even more remarkable.

Her Enders authority is called Paradise Guidance. And the condition to use it is unlike anything else in the novel.

Imagine a locked door with no handle and no key. The only way it opens is if you already understand everything inside the room. You cannot go in to learn. You cannot practice your way to the answer. The door opens only when you already know.

That is Paradise Guidance. But it goes even deeper than that.

To use it Kim Yeon does not need to train. She does not need to reach a certain realm or master a technique. What she needs is to completely understand and embody what her authority actually means that her power exists only for others, that paradise is not something she defines but something unique to every individual she guides, and that her role is to guide people toward their own ideal outcome, never to impose her own.

Not intellectually. Not partially. Completely.

Her existence itself has to match the concept.

That is not a power system. That is a philosophy of selflessness written into the fabric of her authority. The author built one of the most conceptually rich and emotionally resonant Enders authorities in the entire novel.

And summarized it.

– The Artificial Gandhara

To understand why this matters you need to understand what a Gandhara actually is.

It is a divine manifestation a constructed vessel of power through which top tier beings like Heavenly Venerables exert their authority. Think of it not as a body and not as a weapon but as something between the two a divine avatar powered by higher reality itself, representing the user's existence and authority at the highest level. Heavenly Venerables fight using Gandharas. Some cannot even fully control their own.

Kim Yeon created an artificial one.

Not inherited. Not granted. Artificially constructed and constructed at a level capable of subsuming another Gandhara entirely. Meaning she built a divine vessel of power from scratch that could consume and overtake the manifested authority of a Heavenly Venerable level being.

The conceptual weight of that achievement in the context of RTOC's power system is staggering.

It was summarized and left out.

– Pattern of Neglect vs. Isolated Oversight

One omission could be attributed to pacing decisions. Two could be coincidence. But the civilization achievements, the power framework, the Enders authority, and the artificial Gandhara, that is a pattern. And patterns are not accidents.

Tremendous wrote characters with complexity and depth when he chose to. Other Enders received proper arcs. Some side characters received more page time than she did. This was not a story that outgrew its scope and left everyone suffering equally. He had the capacity. He had the material. He built the civilization thread, the talent lineage, the power synergy, the Enders paradox all of it himself.

The gap was never in the material. It was in the execution.

And the worst part? Even the fragments that did make it into the text show exactly who she is.

Even in the 13th cycle after losing her mind she still kept tabs on her colleagues. If I recall correctly in a different cycle she told Kang Ming Hee who had previously been in a relationship with Seo Eun-hyun that she would step aside if Kang Ming Hee wanted to return to him.

She still held a moral line most characters with full faculties would have abandoned. And even with her feelings for Seo Eun-hyun she was willing to put someone else's happiness before her own.

That is not a bum character. That is a person the author understood well enough to write with that kind of quiet dignity, and then chose not to fully explore.

The fandom has been judging a painting they were only shown 30% of and calling it unfinished. But the person responsible for leaving it unfinished was the artist.

Kim Yeon deserved better. Tremendous had everything he needed. He just did not do the work.

And we have been blaming her for it ever since.

I swear I will write a fanfiction about her and give her the story she deserved. But I still have exams to focus on first as well as getting a new device. She will have to wait a little longer.
