Currently re-reading and on the 14th cycle, even during the immortal realms I honestly liked that he found someone he could love, yes the story isn’t as satisfying as the 10th cycle with Bul Hyang hwa but does love have to be complicated? I feel it was sort of foreshadowed in the early cycles they might get together.
SEH says that KYH is a pure martial artists unlike himself. So if he reaches the Root would that count as pure martial arts as well?
So i'm a new reader and I've been loving Rtoc. I started reading the manhwa but when it finished season 1 I couldn't wait and people said that the manhwa left out a lot, so I decided to read the novel where the manhwa ended.
I'm gonna be honest, reading the novel was a slogfest..... Each chapter was so damn long😭 It reminded of volume 1 of Lord of the Mysteries. But then I saw that the manhwa was returning with season 2 in like 2-3 days.
Therefore I decided to read the entirety of season 2 and pick off where it ends. A chapter or 2 in and I just couldn't wait, so I read the 2nd or 3rd cycle that was supposedly "Skipped" and honestly it was pretty good. Then I continued to where I last left off and so im bow on chapter 62.
Thoughts: I've been enjoying everything about the novel it no longer felt like a "slogfest". I like how kind the mc is and he kinda reminded me of Klein when he wanted to suppress his emotions. I also like how clear cut the powerscale is, for example the mc Seo something said that heavenly Beings could probably destroy a country with a single attack.
My current favorite characters are the mc, martial arts guy (hoon-hyung?) and the Master.
And I really like the start of each cycle, since we get to meet the cultivators, and we either get lore or the mc gets "glazed" a bit. Basically its nice to see their attitude towards the mc improve and it feels very rewarding. Kinda like the Tarot Club meeting in Lotm where Klein gets glazed.
If you're wondering why I keep making lotm references its because its my favorite peace of fiction.
I also like how fast the cultivation progression is compared to martial arts, I was lowkey worried that each star would be 1 cycle lol.
My only gripe with rtoc is not knowing what the mc can or can't do. I have a really hard time understanding the 72 words of sha and the other stuff, so I have no clue what he can do. Right now I'm assuming he can do any earth style ninjutsu from naruto and has earth magic in general as long as it doesn't scale above Qi Refining.
So yeah I'm excited for what happens next.
How is Seo Eun Hyun able to face off against Heavenly Being Cultivators as a new Nascent Soul? It was stated that even a single small realm difference is hard to beat but he is confident enough to face off against 3 Heavenly Beings + 8 Nascent Souls?
Also how is Jeong Myung Hun able to one shot nascent souls as a nascent soul, as well as kill a Four Axis Cultivator?
If Seo is able to fight and win against heavenly beings does that mean he can beat mad lord/ sea dragon king?

While trying to find certain rtoc edit, I came across a video of rtoc and decide to watch it and see comment and when I see a comment talking about daughter arc being underrated(which I agree) but then said Seo Eun Hyun x Kim Yeon is most complex dynamic in the novel I was obviously baffled and wanted to ask this community about it
Even though Kim Yeon is wasted potential character that could've been a great written character, I don't think Kim Yeon x Seo Eun Hyun has any complexity in dynamic in their relationship beside she wasn't even supposed to be a main heroine, the author was forced into it so he didn't clearly planned Kim Yeon relationship with Seo Eun Hyun in later arcs and just roll with it
I just failed to understand what complexity is in there in Seo Eun Hyun relationship with Kim yeon that could make her compete with top tier character dynamic like SEO hewol and gwak am or even future king
Creator gods are supposed to be omnipotent in their own domains. Now the introduction of the great divinities who can kill a creator god makes FK's feat of slaughtering creator gods in the final battle underwhelming. Also that snail CG is bullshit. I know that snail is larping as a "snail" and if you put enough salt it can die is kind of making them look weak. I know they cannot die so they create their death but really? Salt? Or I'm just stupid
