My First Zastava Pistol

My First Zastava Pistol

Over the weekend I found this 9mm Luger Zastava M70aa for sale at a local gun store for $350. I love steel-frame hammer fired guns and I figured it would go well with my cold war Mosin Nagant, so I bought it immediately. The 9mm Luger chambering was a big selling point for me too, because I dont want to have to pay a premium stockpiling 9mm Tokarev.

Today I went to a local indoor range and shot it for the first time, around a hundred rounds at 30 feet. It functioned perfectly, no malfunctions. It took me a bit to get used to the stiff trigger, but on the last 27 shots/ 3 mags I got about a 6 inch group, and I have no doubt that I was the limiting factor on the accuracy, not the pistol itself.

One problem, the magazine release seems a little sticky. The mags dont want to drop free, they get hung up on something.

Overall it's a great pistol, I love the rugged feel and the aesthetic of it and I'm glad I was able to find one in 9mm Luger in such nice shape.
