Does having a strong connection with Archangel Michael also mean having a connection with demons?

This isn’t a claim I came up with myself, but I recently read it from someone else. It may simply be part of their personal gnosis, but it really caught my attention because I feel like something similar has always happened to me.

I have a somewhat intermittent devotional relationship with Archangel Michael, whom I find fascinating and inspiring, but I also practice paganism alongside that. My understanding of the divine (since I’m not an atheist) is that there is one great creative force, which then manifests through different archetypes. That’s why different religions and pantheons exist, in my view.

Regardless of all that, I’ve always felt a strong attraction to and interest in demonolatry, Goetia, and related practices. I’m not approaching this from a heretical point of view, and I know it may sound contradictory, but ultimately:

Could this dichotomy between the angelic and the demonic represent some kind of balance between opposing forces? Or is Michael perhaps particularly connected to souls who are more likely to have demons “drawn” to them?

What do you guys think?

Kemetism, Islam and Sufism: Are They Spiritually Reconcilable?

Hi everyone, there’s something I’d like to ask you all about (always with the respect these kinds of topics deserve), especially those of you who are knowledgeable about these three religions, and particularly anyone who practices at least two of them in combination.

I’ve always been deeply drawn to Islam and its “heart,” namely Sufi mysticism. At the same time, I’m also extremely interested in Kemetism, and I’ve been practicing it with increasing commitment.

I know these religions can represent certain incompatibilities with each other (because of monotheism vs. polytheism, the fact that Islam is a more modern religion in practice, etc.). But I’d like to know to what extent they might be reconcilable. I imagine perhaps not so much at the level of dogma, but more through their mystical substratum.

What do you think? I find it a really fascinating discussion.

Humanized forms of netjeru?

Aside from their more “canonical” divine forms (often tied to their symbolic animal), how do you perceive the Netjeru in more humanized forms? Do you have any images/art that you associate with your deities?

I’d love to see them shared here!

In your practices with Set/Sutekh, what unexpected traits have you noticed? What things does this deity seem to enjoy or favor that you found surprising? In my case:

-He seems to enjoy music (and by extension, dancing), especially anything with Egyptian, Arab, Mediterranean, or percussion elements. I also think he likes more modern compositions, maybe leaning toward rock or underground. Music was likely very present in ancient Egypt, so that might be why he “claims” it or enjoys having it around.

-Cats seem to adore him. Maybe that’s just a netjeru thing, but I didn’t expect it. My cats have reacted very negatively to other (non-Egyptian) entities, getting nervous or even aggressive, which isn’t like them. But when I’m working with Set, they seem fascinated and completely at ease. That really stood out to me.

-He really enjoys good alcohol, but not in excess. I’d say there’s a somewhat Dionysian streak there, if you allow the comparison.

-Sweets like strawberries or dates, though I’m not sure if that’s more canonical.

-Perfumes, relaxation, luxury. This surprised me, but it might be part of what I call his “oasis mode" (VS chaos and movenemt mode), a kind of protective, safe bubble where life feels slower, more indulgent, centered on pleasure and rest. I like that aspect, and it feels like something he shows to those who get close to him.

-The sun, brightness. I know he’s deity related to storms, but maybe through his connection to and protection of Ra, he places a lot of importance on solar power and energy. This has been new for me since I’m not much of a sun person, so it’s also helped me reconcile with that.

What about you? In your practices, what quirks or peculiarities have you come across?
