So I've made the big and scary decision to start recording video essays, but for whatever reason I just feel like my audio quality is missing something, so I figured I'd ask about the best recommended settings for the specific mic (or any settings that generally improve sound quality regardless of microphone)

If i were to make a video essay about one specific video game, and then make a different video with a completely different game (say I went from Silent Hill to Final Fantasy), would that hurt my initial reach if im just starting out, meaning id have to stick to Silent Hill or horror in general until I gain enough of an audience?
