I changed my mind about the BTM stock. Was never a fan of the stock, just the TV show. Shot one yesterday with the Mars FRT, and felt like I was on an 80s TV show. 😁

I'm building a searchable real-world ballistics database

I’ve been working on ChronoBase, a searchable database for real-world chronograph results:

https://industryoutsider.com/chronobase/

I’m trying to pick up where Ballistics By The Inch left off, but with searchable/filterable data, firearm and barrel details, SD/ES, shot strings, and comparisons.

It’s mostly .22 LR right now, but I plan to expand it.

I’d appreciate feedback on the database itself, especially usability and anything important I’m missing.

I’m also looking for people with chronographs who would be willing to contribute vetted test data. If you save your shot strings or chrono exports and want to participate, let me know.

Dedicated to quiet time. TandemKross Cthulhu lower, Volquartsen Mini Mamba LLV 3" upper with their lightened bolt, and a Sparrow. No need to waste my CCi SV, this little barrel keeps bulk ammo subsonic.

Supersonic ammo vs 3" Mamba LLV. A post brought to you by science, Athlon, and Volquartsen. :) Elevation approximately 4,000 ft, temp 79 degrees. Ten rounds of each ammo type. All stayed subsonic. With a 17 MPH crosswind, I didn't bother shooting any rifles today.

Upgraded this 457 with the EP-5 Gen 2. Best trade I've done in a while.

Feedback requested. I created a page that has a ballistics drop calculator, and scope elevation calculator. It's designed to provide quick (though rough) calculations for bullet drop compensation, and then determine if your scope/base combo has enough elevation adjustment.
