got my first homeserver machine, a acemagic minipc

Actually got this minipc as a gift and Im planning to turn it into a little home server. It’s got a ryzen 7730u, 16gb ram and a 512gb ssd, which should be more than enough for what I have in mind. Im thinking docker, a few selfhosted services, and maybe some media stuff.
Before I turn it into a fulltime server though, Im going to use it as my daily PC for a while and see what it can actually do, including some gaming.
If there are any services you think I should try running on it, or anything you’d like to see me test, let me know!

What’s one rep purchase you were unsure about at first but ended up loving?

I’m curious if anyone has bought something they were initially unsure about, maybe because of the style, size, color, or quality, but after receiving it ended up loving it.

What was it, and what changed your mind?

How do you stop mixing up formulas that look almost identical?

I’m taking a signals course where half the formulas seem to use the same variables in slightly different ways.

I can memorize each equation on its own, but during problem sets I still waste time deciding which one applies. The worst part is checking the solution afterward and realizing I knew the formula—I just missed the condition that made it relevant.

Writing more formula sheets hasn’t helped much because they tell me what the equations are, not when to use them.

How do you study the decision-making part of quantitative courses?

From sffpc research to my first minipc experience

I was actually interested in building sffpcs at first. I liked the idea of having a small but powerful pc with the flexibility to upgrade components in the future.
While doing more research, I came across minipcs and decided to give one a try. I bought a acemagic k1 with ryzen 7730U and radeon 680m about a month ago, and it has been a great experience so far.
The biggest surprise is how capable such a small computer can be. I mainly use it for everyday tasks, browsing, media, and some light gaming. It handles games like dota2 and valorant better than I expected.
I also really like the compact design and low power consumption. It takes almost no space on my desk, but still provides enough performance for my daily needs.
I still think building an sffpc would be a fun project someday because of the upgrade flexibility, but for now, minipcs seem like a great fit for my needs.

I bought these Sony WH-XB910N in 2021 as I was looking for a decent set of noise-cancelling cans to use at the office (software dev). I'm somewhat particular about comfort, as they are worn for like 6-7 hours a day.

I remember trying a few other pairs from Soundcore, and my ears got sore from touching the inside of the cups, which grew pretty irritating after a while.

I know these are not the best headphones in the world by any measure, but I do enjoy the extra bass as I listen to a lot of lo-fi hip-hop beats to help me focus on work.

I'm not tied to Sony by any stretch, just looking for decent/similar quality. My budget would be around the 100-150 USD mark (I paid 169.99 CAD for these originally). Prefer to buy from Amazon as some places like bestbuy do not let you return headphones if they are uncomfortable / don't sound good etc.
