Trust the process, stay the course

Just a reminder if you have plateaus the way I do. I was under budget for two weeks straight, gained half a pound, was about to throw my scale through the window. Then down four pounds in two days, and have kept it off! I have no idea what is happening with my system, hormones, water weight, etc., but I started to doubt again even though it always works out this way!

Would you have the surgery, with no symptoms?

I have a unique situation, I think. I developed a stage 2 cystocele and stage 2 rectocele after childbirth 15 years ago. I had uncomfortable symptoms, but they slowly disappeared on their own!

It turns out they didn’t disappear, but instead a large fibroid was growing in my uterus that lifted all of my pelvic organs up. I thought that was a fantastic coincidence, until the fibroid kept growing.

The fibroid is now 16cm, equivalent to a six month pregnancy. And I look it, six months pregnant or even more. So now I’m ready to get it removed, which will mean full hysterectomy and prolapse repair. But I know that opens me up to all of the complications that could come along with it.

If I wait a couple years until menopause, the fibroid will shrink to half its size. It would still be large, but more manageable. But it keeps my prolapse symptoms at bay.

I’m just wondering if anyone here has input, or could even share what you would do in this scenario? Thank you!!
