[IWANTOUT] 31F Latvia -> UK
A question to those who moved to the UK because they couldn't afford living in their own country
So I live in Latvia and there's pretty high unemployment level where I live, also the salaries are low and the prices are too high for living comfortably. Many people cant afford to pay for central heating in winter so they have to pay for it in parts throughout the whole year.
So I'm considering moving to the UK (it's common for people here to move abroad to find a job) but I'm afraid I won't make it alone there either. If I'm lucky I can stay at my friends' house but I don't want to make them uncomfortable, so I'm going to have to find my own place after some time. I've had a look on what's available for rent and the starting price is about 600-700 pounds for a tiny one-room apartament. And then I would also have to eat something and cover some other expences like transportation, etc.
Also, from what I've heard, you can find a job through the agency but that doesn't mean the employee is going to sign a contract with you so one day you can become unemployed easily.
Is the UK still worth it to move there for finding a job? How is the situation there? My friends live in Northampton, but if it doesn't work out and I can't move in with them then I don't know what city to consider. In my homecountry I work as a cashier. I have a bachelor's degree but I don't want to work in that field, so I suppose the available jobs for me in the UK would be something like a wharehouse worker, a maid at a hotel, etc.
P.S. I know about Brexit, my pre-settled ends in August
