hi all! considering Liana for our 1st baby girl’s name but worried about pronunciation and it being “too different”.

I didn’t want a name she’d have to spell every time. we live in the U.S. but I’m not American so it’s hard to gauge.

is your first instinct when reading the name to pronounce it “Lee-ah-nuh”? is it pretty or will it be a problem for her?

I always thought I’d pick a top 10 name because I didn’t want to complicate my children’s lives but it turns out to be quite difficult to pick names that work for living in the US with half the family in and from Brazil and that don’t overlap with the 20 girl cousins she already has
