Help Vote on Boy Names Please! 🙏🏻

We are having our second baby in October and our second surprise gender. I have SO much more trouble with boy names than girl names. Our daughter’s name is Millie, so that will be the sibling set. I’m caught between the following, and the middle name will be Brock (family name):

Wesley/Wes - I’ve loved it for a long time, so maybe the newness has worn off on me? Our last name has a short e vowel sound so I love how they sound together. But something about it makes me feel like it’s hard to say in certain situations, like if I say “can you grab Wes’ lunchbox” it sounds weird to me (🤣 the parents know how often we’re using that sentence)

Frederick/Freddy - my grandpa’s name, but is it too…grandpa sounding? Again has the short e vowel which I love but I can’t seem to commit to it. It does feel like a name he could grow into and go with different nicknames if he wanted to.

Auden/Audie - feels unique and cool to me, but is it too unusual or feminine? I don’t love the thought of him always having to spell it or explain it his whole life.

Help?? Am I overthinking this? What do you like best?

Should I change my baby name ?

Hello everyone! I am 27 F expecting my first baby girl i want to name her Avery, but my husband says it sounds too white meaning I am Mexican but raised here and he was born here in the US but raised in Mexico. He is saying when his friends and family ask him they can’t translate it in Spanish in my defense she will be going to school here and being raised here so I don’t see the problem.

Third girl. Input please

Siblings are Dayna and Kacey.

Looking for a name that compliments these ideally without having the same “na” or “y” sound at the end. Ideally would not be top 100 popular.

Right now our top 3 are:
Rosemary (nn Rosie)
Whitney
Miranda
(Yes, 2 of these do break the “rules”)

But looking for more ideas that might feel right. Thank you!

Sibling name needed for Salem Faye:

I simply cannnnnot find a name my husband agrees with.

We currently have an 11 month old named Salem Faye
And we are having her sister in October this year.

Names I love:
Arya
Maeve
Ivy
Sloane

Names he likes:
Coraline
Freya

He is very specific about name popularity and not wanting her name to be shared with several classmates growing up.

So we just cannot find anything we agree on.
I am wondering if anyone can inspire a name we haven’t gone through
I swear we have thought of every possible name

Matilda or Sylvia? 🇬🇧

Baby girl due imminently (like…today 🤣) and still no clear choice on name.

Sylvia was our first choice for most of the pregnancy but recently Matilda has become my preference. I go back and forth almost everyday 🥲

Other names I love but have been excluded:
Beatrice (already used by a close family member)
Evelyn (unfortunately just way too popular here in the UK and I’m not keen on Evie)
Tabitha (my husband really isn’t keen)

Which would you choose and any other suggestions for names?

For context, my son’s name is Theodore and middle name will be Mary or Elizabeth.

Middle name help

Hello! My husband and I have already had names relatively picked out. We just found out we're pregnant and I am convinced it's a boy. His name will be Malakai, but we can't figure out a middle name we both like. I am open to more than one.

Here are some we've thought about:

Steele (husband's #1 pick...I don't like it at all).

Nathan Steele (my compromise pick for Steele).

Benjamin

Nathaniel

Sebastian

Terrance

James

Hopefully that will help to have something to go off. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

Help with names that fit

I dislike pregnancy for mainly one reason: I have to name a person. This is incredibly hard for me because im ridiculously picky about names. I also stress so while im only 10 weeks im freaking out that I won't find a name I like. My other children are Alexander, Lilybeth, Atticus. What names (either gender) would match with these? Our last name starts with k sound so id like to avoid first names that also start with that sound.

Halloween / Autumn inspired names

Hi! I am almost half way through my pregnancy and due in October this year with a baby girl.

Back ground: My favorite holiday has always been Halloween even if I was not always allowed to celebrate it. My favorite season is autumn. My 5 sibblings and I where not allowed to celebrate Halloween growing up (my parents are strict protestant Christians). As I got older and moved out I started throwing my own Halloween parties for my sibblings and I. We all dress up and my fiance and I cook and bake a bunch of spooky cute halloween appetizers and desserts. It has been very healing for my inner child.

I told my fiance I only want two kids and that it would be a dream come true of one of them was born in October. Four months after a miscarriage, I found out I was pregnant again and due in October. After crying som many tears of grief I cried pure tears of joy. This has been very special to me. We already have a two year old girl who’s middle name is Luna (so we can’t use that). Her first name will most likely be Eliana but we want her middle name to be an ode to Halloween or even the season of fall. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We have one standout boys name we love... but can't seem to find any others that resonate the same way. Help?

Hi all! I wanted to start off with the fact that I am not pregnant, nor will I be in the near future (I mean... we aren't planning to be lol). My fiancé and I are getting married in the fall, and we were talking timeline on when we wanted kids. In a surreal conversation, we both kind of agreed we will be ready around this time next year. Wild. Naturally, the conversation turned to baby names. We have been going over them since early on our relationship as kiddos were important to us, and I think we were both excited.

To start, my fiancé's last name is the one of most (I actually think THE most) common last name in our area. It is short, five letters, and very classic in a sense. I have decided to take his last name as well, and this lead to me narrowing down our baby names list even more.

I know I am not the first or the last person to say they want their babies name to be unique. Of course we all do, but I have some concerns over the last name issue. I have seen my fiancé have his paycheck swapped with another person, I have seen family struggle to get health insurance because someone with the same name applied recently and has health concerns, and I have seen how my fiancé's mom did a really good job with unique names for her kids (and even then had trouble). So I just want it to be unique enough as to not cause any issues in life without making their lives miserable. I understand that is a very fine line.

The only boys name we are head over heels in love with is Bellamy. I love the gender neutralness of it, the softness, the history and just the overall flow. We plan to have the middle name is Robert, and even though it doesn't completely make sense, we thought the nickname Remy could be nice for him when he is little. Overall, we both just love it. I totally get it isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it is ours.

The problem is this is the only boys name we both love. We think we want at least three, so I was hoping to have three of each gender ahead of time, mostly for fun. So, any ideas of names we should consider?

A few notes: we like long names since the last name is short. We want it to be out of the top 500 ideally. Because our name does feel like a pretty classic WASP last name and I have a hispanic background, we are open to some romance language names as that paired with our last name will be unique in its own way. I also am a sucker for literature and history, so bonus points if it has a strong connotation. Below are a few we like, but don't love:

Top:

  • Lucien
  • Elian
  • Illias
  • Emrys
  • Lysander
  • Caspian
  • Auden

Secondary:

  • Dorian
  • Soren
  • Sylvan
  • Evren
  • Caelum
  • Arius
  • Osian
  • Leontes
  • Indigo
  • Fintan

Spelling gurus help with "correct" spelling

Phonetic pronunciation: Suh-eve-ah/ Sah-eve-uh (depending on your accent)

Spelling variations:

  1. Saheevah (I like it with double "e" not just one "e")

  2. Sa'eveh (simple. the "eh" shows people it's "ah" sound as vowels do)

  3. Syevah ( follows her brothers trendy name which is Sylus but now sounds like sy and not suh/sah)

  4. Give me another spelling variation

Iyla or Ayla

For the name “eye-la” where you don’t want to use the spelling Isla, which is better? Iyla or Ayla.
Also I’m worried Iyla would look like Lyla to some people when reading it. What do you guys read when you look at the name Iyla? For context we live in Australia.

Daphne Sky or Daphne Skylark?

I'd make a poll but I'm not on the app. My bf and I love Skylark and I know middle names don't matter much and people are picking more out there names in general but I guess I want to know what the broader consensus would be? Last name is 2 syllables starting with E.

Would you go with safer Daphne Sky or braver Daphne Skylark?

Is this a good name?

So we like the first name of Rowan for a girl, we had trouble with middle names but we like Elowyn. But everyone we’ve told has had negative things to say. Is it a mouth full? We were a little concerned about both ending with the n sound but they have special meaning to us. What are your thoughts?

So I don’t know if I’m pregnant yet (still have to wait a day or two to test), but is it bad if my fiancé and I already have a list of names, and are they any good? (Most of them were my ideas besides the first one in both categories)

I like most of them, but I’d like outside opinions too.

Names:

Boy:

Girl:
Taylor dawn
Winnie Eloise
Willow Jema

Posting again because we can’t decide…🥴

I made a post about a unisex name for sister Dana, and every single one my husband didn’t like. We’ve been having SUCH a hard time agreeing on anything and I mentioned a name today and he surprisingly kind of liked it!

Since we haven’t told anyone what we’re having yet, I can’t talk to anyone in person about names. But do you think this name goes well with the siblings names?

We have a Lincoln and Dana, and I mentioned Elowen to him and he said he liked it. Do you think those go together as sibling names? I know it’s not an American name and sounds a little “fantasy” which I don’t mind at all, but does it sound like they flow together? Thoughts on the name in general?🤔

HELP I’m TIRED of thinking of names for him to shoot them down.🫩😂
