Help with a boy name

We are due with our baby this month and we don’t know the gender. We are pretty settled on a girl name but having the hardest time choosing a boy name!

We have a son named Forrest (after a great great grandfather - would love to use another family name but don’t like any of the options).

Names we both like:

- Walter
- Oscar
- George
- Fitz

Names I like but my husband doesn’t:

- Archer (I looove Archie as a nickname, but I also hate how popular this is getting)
- Tanner (this is my husbands name and he thinks it would be weird having two people with the same name in the house)

Thoughts on these?! Or any suggestions that fit the vibe?

A few notes: I don’t love popular and anything borderline unisex is out (I used unisex names for my girls).

Thank you!!

38 weeks and still don’t have a baby name picked out!

I have an Everett and a Johanna. The only name I have liked is Evelyn, but I think that’s too close to Everett. Everett and Johanna have Dutch roots (my husband’s side), my side is Irish but I don’t like any of the Irish names I’ve seen. Autumn sounds nice to me, too but I’m just not sure. Help!

Felix middle name?

Baby boy Felix is arriving soon and we need to decide on a middle name! We’ve had Wilder picked out for months now, but I’m just not sure on it. Maybe feels too trendy? I do like how it looks on paper way more than saying it.

Our last name starts with an S and is very Eastern European sounding with a ‘chick’ sound at the end. Nothing really flows with it, so not so worried about that. I am wondering if Felix Alexander and with our hard sounding last name if it’s too much. Would love help picking a fav since we’re not telling anyone the name until he’s born!

  1. Felix Alexander
  2. Felix Wilder
  3. Felix Emerson
  4. Felix Andrew (husbands middle name which he doesn’t love)
  5. Felix Rowan

Baby name judgement

So I’m 32 weeks pregnant with my first, a wee baby boy.
My partner and I are really struggling to decide on a name that we both like. I’m Scottish but live in Italy and I would love a traditional Scottish name but nothing seems to work.
We both quite like a name but when we mentioned it to our families, neither my parents nor his liked it at all. I know it’s our decision but it’s really important to me what my family think too…
Any advice? I feel stressed because everyone keeps asking us “what’s his name then?” and time is ticking!

Is 'Carys' too feminine for a boy?

We're 10 weeks pregnant and dont know the sex yet but I absolutely cannot find a boys name I love. I love Carys for a girl, is it too feminine for a boy?

Vienna
Vivian
Claire

edit: Nell is one of our top choices but everyone we tell it to questions it. Is it too weird?

Boy name help

Our top 4 names are:

Daniel (my favourite)

Cameron (my partner's favourite)

Sam

Rowan

Our main issue is my partner likes the nicknames for Daniel but doesnt like the full name. And I'm the same with Cameron.

Rowan is a strong contender but we're giving him middle names after our dads, so one of his middle names will be Robert. Plus my partner's surname ends in "ro". So I'm concerned that his full name wont flow very nicely. We also like the name Robin but wont be using it for this reason.

Does anybody have any other name suggestions that fit our vibe? Nothing too unique. We like soft sounding, friendly names.

Opinions on sharing baby’s name before birth??

We recently found out we are having a girl but are keeping the fact that we know the sex a secret until the baby shower when we will surprise reveal.

We haven’t shared our name ideas with anyone yet but know people will start asking once they know the sex. Does anyone have any strong opinions about sharing names before birth, one way or the other? I don’t feel like our name will draw objections from anyone but I also feel like you never really know.

Our baby will be named Margot Belle Scarlett (we’re only like 75% sure on middle name & it could still change so we probably won’t share that until birth). Our other middle name contender is Miller, which is a family name. We are also open to suggestions!

Need a third boy name BAD lol

We are desperately looking for a third boy name. We usually like classic, sort of biblical names (but not super religious names or anything). We mix it up sometimes though.

Names we are currently debating:
Maxwell aka Max: hung up on Max being a top dog name? How much would this bug you?
Wesley aka Wes: don’t love “Wesley”, but really like Wes

Names we like, but can’t use:
Adam
Abraham
Benjamin
Bennett
Caleb
Daniel
Ethan
Noah
Nathan
Samuel

Worried about naming my child something people can’t pronounce any advice?

Does anyone have a difficult to pronounce name or named their child something not everyone can say? I love the name Llewelyn for a boy (Llew for short) which is a Welsh name (UK). People who speak Welsh could say it but I’m worried about giving my child a name people from England and beyond might struggle with.

Having trouble deciding on a name for my daughter

I am stuck between two names

Which sounds the best? Or do you have any other suggestions?

Her sister name is Cambry Elizabeth if that helps.

Girl Name!

Need a girl name for our baby due in December…. We like all these options but for some reason I’m not feeling totally sold on any of them.

Finley (Fin)
Imogen (Imi)
Emmy
Isla
Kit

For reference our last name starts with F, and name that nickname well is a bonus but not necessary. I love the name Opal (for the main character in Because of Winn Dixie :)) but my husband isn’t convinced. We generally lean towards modern names (despite Imogen), but nothing too out there. nature-inspired/adjacent names also great but nothing crazy. Need some fresh ideas!!

Help: Name for a boy

We have a baby boy due in about a month and still haven't decided on a name. So far our two favorites are: Paul & Elliott.

What are your thoughts on those two names?

Do you have more recommendations, that we might like, based on our favorites?

Thanks for your help 🤗

Edit: A person in this thread brought up that Elliott sounds like idiot. It had crossed my mind before, but everybody I brought it up to didn't see/hear it. What do you guys think? Does Elliott resemble idiot?
