Survey Request on Perceived Medical Equality (US, UK, Israel, Australia)
This is an informal research study. The results will be shared with a potential mentor.
Mods please show me where to post this if it’s not allowed here. I’m not sure how to create a survey link that will copy and paste into Reddit.
Question: How equal is the access to AAC eye gaze technology in your country?
Please state:
Country of residence
Ethnicity
Religion
Gender
If you have a disability
AAC stands for alternative augmentative communication. This can be low-tech, like using communication cards with words or pictures on them, or pre-recorded buttons. It can also be high tech, such as a tablet that speaks words aloud when buttons are pressed.
For people who need high tech AAC, there’s different kinds. For someone who can use their hands and fingers, a regular tablet that has an app that allows you to touch the screen and have the tablet speak aloud is useful. But if you cannot use your hands and fingers , touching the screen might be impossible.
Some devices can respond to either head movement or eye movement. Eye gaze devices respond to eye movement.
