Survey Request on Perceived Medical Equality (US, UK, Israel, Australia)

This is an informal research study. The results will be shared with a potential mentor.

Mods please show me where to post this if it’s not allowed here. I’m not sure how to create a survey link that will copy and paste into Reddit.

Question: How equal is the access to AAC eye gaze technology in your country?

Please state:

Country of residence

Ethnicity

Religion

Gender

If you have a disability

AAC stands for alternative augmentative communication. This can be low-tech, like using communication cards with words or pictures on them, or pre-recorded buttons. It can also be high tech, such as a tablet that speaks words aloud when buttons are pressed.

For people who need high tech AAC, there’s different kinds. For someone who can use their hands and fingers, a regular tablet that has an app that allows you to touch the screen and have the tablet speak aloud is useful. But if you cannot use your hands and fingers , touching the screen might be impossible.

Some devices can respond to either head movement or eye movement. Eye gaze devices respond to eye movement.

Sick For Weeks

My family is yelling that they all got sick for a few days and feel better , so another person who doesn’t feel well still must just be faking it.

Yet I have been sick for three weeks.

If you are not sick in a convinient way, the world doesn’t care.

I am frustrated. Frustrated that my family “forgot“ I need wheelchair assessibility. Frustrated that they think I will just wake up one day and magically not have disabilities. That enough effort will help when I will never get hired for a job.

I just want to cry.

Need Eid Recipe Ideas

So I need to make a Eid dish in a few weeks and I need some ideas.

I like falafel on pita but it’s too gritty and hard to swallow. I can’t swallow very well or chew very well.

Any ideas similar in taste to falafel?

I also want to try the lamb yougurt dish but a plant based version. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have an all to: wheat, whey (can have dairy if it’s cook at a high temperature such as bakin), and sesame.
