What Women Want…
Stealing the title from the 2000s Mel Gibson RomCom… Anyways, what prompted this post is all the chatter here about wives who have the “perfect husband” that they are not attracted to. I’m a man, but trying to articulate what I think a potential missing ingredient is (and I promise Andrew Tate isn’t advising me). Isn’t there something to women wanting the man who is objectively ripped, bulked and rough looking? I ask because I saw some clickbait recently of a woman at a roadside table with her husband eating when a chiseled, shirtless guy walked by sweaty after his run. Her eyes were glued. I’m not saying she’d be unfaithful, but isn’t there a part of most women that craves that raw masculine energy compared to her doughy “nice guy” husband (assuming that guy is all the things her husband isn’t)?
The simple takeaway here is I think most women wouldn’t hate it if their husbands embraced more of their raw masculine energy (which much of our church culture has lacked for the past decade). Sure, he should be righteous, a provider and all the things we expect of priesthood holders, but shouldn’t he have a bit of edge to him too? Women… put me in my place and tell me I’m wrong.
