Im currently 11 weeks pregnant with my second. I didnt have mcas with my first and I think I developed it postpartum after my first pregnancy because thats when my struggle with this illness started. Now during my second pregnancy I am suffering for my life. I have constant flares and I also developed hyperemesis gravidarum. I am considering getting a surgical abortion because of how this pregnancy is affecting my health so severely that I cannot function and feel like I am dying. The only thing keeping me from making the appointment is my fear of having a reaction to the local anesthesia they inject into the cervix to numb it. I dont have supportive doctors nor do I have an immunologist who can help me. The doctors dont know much about mcas and they even admit it so I feel so helpless and I dont know how to test if Ill react to the local anesthesia and if I can get an anesthesiologist who understands mcas? Has anyone here with mcas done a surgical abortion and what was the outcome (I know we are all different and something you dont react to I might but Id still love to hear others experiences and advice). Thanks!
