Book cover designers: Blowing up book covers for posters
For anyone who has illustrated a cover using raster art and an illustration tablet like Wacom, this question is for you! I am a graphic designer who is self publishing my YA fantasy novel. I'm also illustrating the cover using Photoshop. If the cover is 6x9, and I want to use this cover art for a promo poster on foamcore (18x27 inches), I know I can't design at 18x27 and expect a small file or fast processing speeds. Is there a workaround? Work at 120%? Or do most cover designers simply design at 100% size? (I normally don't illustrate book covers, so don't know how big I can go without making Photoshop freeze or work at super slow speeds).
