Question for Florence locals / event professionals
Hi everyone,
I’m part of a performance group that has been approached to perform at a private multi-day wedding event at Villa Tolomei in Florence this September, and before we commit to international travel, I wanted to do a quiet sanity check with locals.
The event has been described to us as:
a large luxury private wedding a full weekend celebration multiple performers / artists / entertainment booked destination wedding style event.
The reason I’m asking is that I’m aware there are known scams where performers are invited to fake destination events, so we’re simply being extra careful and verifying everything properly before making arrangements. It sounds too good to be true.
I’m just wondering whether this sounds plausible / familiar to anyone local, especially people working in hospitality, events, or weddings in Florence.
