Kitten breathes REALLY fast.
So my female kitten, whos around 6 months breathes really fast. Around 120 times per minute while sleeping. She’s otherwise great, really active and plays, eats normally. Something I noticed when I got her (4-ish months ago) was that her belly was unusually large but the vet disregarded it. Her breathing rate is really fast even when she’s in a cool, air conditioned room.
Her breathing looks abdominal and not as effortless. I’ve got another cat (3.5yrs old) and he’s totally normal.
I know this is not normal. I’ve been to the vet again and they’ve again disregarded my concerns saying it’s probably stress or because she’s in heat. I don’t think it’s that because even if shes in heat then the breathing shouldn‘t be so abdominal.
Can anyone please tell me what this possibly is, or what I should do next?
