Overfeeding?

I have a 20 pound 4 month old and he EBF. He eats pretty much every two hours around the clock occasionally stretching to three. When I leave him with someone due to work and he has to take a bottle he barely eats. I had to go to Houston for work and was gone 9 hours. This is the longest I’ve been away from him. I pumped 12 ounces while I was away and he only drank 5 ounces in two different bottles (2 ounces then 3 ounces) . He will go way longer between feeds if I’m not around and has minor bottle rejection. I was surprised when the pediatrician seemed a bit concerned with his size and suggested introducing solids too him at 5 months. He said “when babies consume this much milk they need food”. Guess I just want to know if any one has had a similar experience and if their baby ever went longer between nursing and how introducing solids changed anything.
