I microchiped a cat in rescue, which I subsequently adopted 10+ years ago. Today at his annual visit, during physical exam, doctor thought she felt a tick, turns out the microchip was working its way out.

Anybody else experienced this phenomenon or heard of such a thing. It had some debris on it and clearly wasn’t a quick exit. But since I shave it regularly I know it probably started its exit within the last 6 months.

Do you think a groomer could have compromised it ? Don’t expect it makes a difference but was a home again.
