Air UX3.0 is great, but it removed one of my favorite features

I have a 2025 Air Pure with 19k miles and love the car, it still makes me smile every time, but the 2.11.0 update changed something for the worse:

Previously you could double tap the large car icon on the home screen of the pilot panel and the panel would turn off. I loved it. It was easy to do and nice on the eyes while driving at night.

Now with the new UX, that feature is gone.

I discovered a similar but downgraded feature tonight: pull down the top bar for options on the pilot panel, and in the top left corner is a “power” icon. This darkens the screen, but doesn’t turn it off. It requires more swipes/taps, and it’s harder to hit that little icon while driving compared to the couple taps on the home screen.

Bring back the couple taps to easily turn off the pilot panel.

P.S. please add a compass on the dash somewhere, it would be so easy .
And yes, I know the pilot panel retracts but I don’t like doing that all the time.

Finish recommendations for red oak bed frame with castle joints

Hello all, I’m hoping to get some advice on different finishing options for a red oak full size bed frame for my son.

I have been reading about 1:1:1 oil:varnish:thinner finishes and considering using it for the first time, but I’m worried about castle joints becoming too tight. If I already have decently snug castle joints, would this add too much thickness to affect my ability to assemble/disassemble? Dry fitting already requires some firm strikes with the mallet.

Would oil-only finish be sufficient without an additional protective coat?

Any other recommendations to consider for a red oak bed frame?

Thank you all! Always appreciate this sub.

Lease return and front skid plate.

Can anyone share recent experiences on Air lease returns and front skid plate scratches? I have some decent sized scrapes, larger than 3.5inches, and considering paying Service to replace it.

I have service coming out for my 2025 Air Pure half shaft recall. They're quoting $1100 to replace the front skid plate while they're here. Are people still getting hit with big ($2400ish) charges by BofA for large scrapes to their front skid plate?
