I know they didn't have the time to prepare a new setlist different from the "What lies within" tour standard setlist... But I'm a dreamer and this setlist would've made the Blackbird Festival my favourite event ever, taking in mind duration of their show (1:45 minutes):

1. Slip to the Void — 5:20

2. Cry of Achilles — 6:50

3. Fortress — 8:00

4. What Lies Within — 5:10

5. Waters Rising — 5:50

6. Coeur d'Alene — 4:40

7. Tested and Able — 4:40

8. Watch Your Words — 5:30

9. In Loving Memory (Mark guitar) + Watch Over You (Myles guitar) — 1:55 + 4:30

10. Show Me a Leader — 5:15

11. Fable of the Silent Son — 8:30

12. Metalingus — 5:30 (time of their live performance)

Encore:

13. Words Darker than their wings — 7:00 (time plus the leaving the stage and coming out again, song time is 5:25)

14. Blackbird — 9:00

Second Encore

15. Slave To Master — 11:00 (again, the song IS actually 9:00)

Total time 1h 38 minutes 40 seconds, with 6 minutes of margin for whatever could happen (presentation, Myles talking to the crowd, change of guitars, etc) and all songs durations were rounded up so there is no need to rush things

I put Watch your words and Waters rising because they are both favourites of mine, but they can be changed (addicted to pain, Isolation, rise again, open your eyes, Ghost of days gone by, burn It down... They have all similar durations)

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed every bit of the event. Every band in It was spot on. I was really impressed by Florence Black and although I knew how good Skindred were, their live performance was something out of this world.

With all this said, AB didn't change much of the setlist from others shows this year (I went to Madrid's show). The songs were almost the same except in Madrid they played what lies within and burn It down (bangers) and in Cardiff they played disregarded and Broken wings instead.

Maybe I'm being too picky, but being their own first Festival I was expecting them to drop some nukes: The Fable of the Silent son, Slave To Master, Coeur d'Alene, Show me a Leader, Words Darker than their wings, etc... Songs that they don't usually play live, but songs that are fan favourites and absolute bangers

Idk, I really really enjoyed their performance and AB will always be my top band no matter what. But we travelled from another country in Europe to Wales in the UK (burocracy makes that travel a pain in the ass) because there's only one chance to be at Alter Bridge's first ever own Festival... I hope they don't look back at It and say: we really missed our chance to make the first ever Blackbird Festival something absolutely unique, not only the last stop of the tour.
