Lets give all of these people boxing nicknames

Lets give all of these people boxing nicknames

I know many already have one i.e. grim reaper, Japan’s Hawk, Owari Dragon, Wind God BUT in the spirit of keeping things fun for the ones that don’t I wanna give all the characters a new boxing nickname each day. Starting with the top left:

What should MASHIBA’s new nickname be.

My prediction for the current fight

This might already be accepted as common knowledge (not to me) but here it is. As we all know Sendo is based off of Joe from AnJ. This fight is likely the end of Sendo’s character arc, just like Mashiba’s world title fight was the end of his arc. How did Joe’s arc end? Death. I think Ricardo v Sendo will go through all 12 rounds, with Sendo refusing to give up because of his Grandma and Ricardo will win by decision (it might even be a draw as I think Sendo will make it close and release some animalistic instinct. But as his corner is approaching him at the end of the fight they will realise, similar to Joe (and Sendo’s first fight) he is unresponsive in his corner, dead.

I believe this will be what causes Ippo to cross that line and rejoin boxing, where he will go for the quickest path to Ricardo, taking out Imai and Guevara on the way.

I still don’t know where Miyata/Itagaki fit into this but this is my prediction.

Who Would win? Kimura vs Itagaki?

(Ignore the cursed image)

Parameters: Fighting at natural weight, 10 round match, 3 knockdown rule, assuming narrative bias isn't applying (i.e. it being a tie to appease the audience)

Lets get the obvious out of the way. Itagaki is the more skilled boxer by far. The talent, skills and abilities he has displayed in matches prior and up to his titleship bout are similar to that of a not fully developed Wally.

However, Kimura is a weight class above and if they are fighting at natural weights, 2 weight classes above. Furthermore in Itagaki's fight against Karasawa and Saeki he showed that he can struggle against a more experienced opponent who uses strategy rather than raw speed/power. Kimura is an expert at using strategy (when he wants to) and if given the stamina/power blessed by being at a natural weight could definitely pose a challenge to Itagaki.

My opinion is, taking them both at their primes (Vs Saeki/Imai + Vs Mashiba) it would likely come down to Kimura's ability to formulate a plan vs Itagaki's overwhelming speed and chronos time. I could see it going either way, but I think maybe a late round KO on Kimura from Itagaki.

Thoughts?
