Would I be stupid for not taking this kind of deal? (FM24)

This is probably one of the best young centre backs i've ever had/seen.
Bought him for only 3.4 million from a croatian team.

Possibility of going up to 189 million is beyong amazing. However, I already have 150 million sitting in the transfer budget and I have no clue what to do with it.

Would I be stupid for not taking this? I probably could negotiate and get it even higher, it would be beyond recording breaking sale for me. I would have over 300 million transfer budget.

In games like fifa and fm, I always say to myself, whats the point in selling a young world class player, they're only going to get better, it's better to have them on your team rather than against you and it would be difficult to find a replacement which is true, I've had a look and can't find any centre backs that even come close to how good he is.

I might draw out a plan of players I could potentially sign with the money.

(Also, chelsea are consistent prem winners and big rivals against me in the CL, I usually always draw either chelsea or man utd. I would rather not sell one of my best players and play against him)

What would you do?

Decent Young player wants to leave all of a sudden. (FM24)

This is Alexandros, a very good central midfielder from Greece.
As you can see, he only just turned 20, around 3 months before the season ended.
Last season, he made 21 senior appearances, 8 of these being a sub in the CL and 5 international caps for greece.

Barely even a month after the season finishes and he is demanding that I let him leave.
We just won the domestic treble, done well in the CL, he's on a more than fair wage for this age and play time.

I genuinely do intend to make him a starter but maybe in a season or 2.

Thankfully, he barely has any influence so I'm sure this will all just blow over, but it really is annoying that he just done a 180 on me and wants to leave.

Who would you start and why? (FM24)

For context, CR jr has been the regular starting striker for the last 4 seasons, played very well. 71 goals in 73 games (I did not realise how often I actually rotate him) No concerning cons, enjoys big matches and is consistent.

I signed Pescarolo because he had a 25 mill release clause, obviously he is worth much more than that. I guess there is multiple things I could do with him. I could start him, use him as a backup striker, send him on loan or sell him. His only concern is not having jump heigh but he also is consistent.

I do have a 3rd striker that has been performing good aswell, he also can get home grown status within the next 2 years.( So if I do sell Pescarolo, I still have a good backup)

I think the answer is CR jr, he has better stats, already proved himself in the league and in CL.

For context, Quenda has been the regular starting right winger for the last 7/8 seasons. He is a great player, his only con is fairly susceptible to injuries, which he has had quite a few 7 week long injures. A few seasons back when he was arguably in his prime I got offered 70 million for him from liverpool. Obviously, I rejected it because he was one of the best wingers in the world at the time, since then he has been on a slight decline.

Laporte is a relatively new signing from Anderlecht just last season, he doesn't score as many goals as quenda has but with 17 crossing he has been getting quite a few assists. He doesn't really have any concerning cons apart from needing consistent game time to further develop.

Both players think they deserve to start, and to be fair they do both deserve to start. It's just unfortunate that I can't start both of them (I already have an amazing left winger).
Looking at the stats, I do think the answer is Quenda, his physical stats alone are so much better.

Best CDM I've seen/had (FM24)

https://preview.redd.it/lk9axpnb29fh1.png?width=1730&format=png&auto=webp&s=55a67695d473b5e0931662ef9e9184bc578cdee4

This is a bit of a rant.

Caleb Yirenkyi, a prolific CDM/CM. I bought him from Nordsjaelland for a measly £8 million or so. Unfortunately, his contract included a £20 million release clause (which he wouldn't sign without)

In the short 2 years he was at my club (Celtic) he won 5 trophies and an African Cup of Nations. In the 9 seasons he's been at Atheltico Madrid, he has only won 2 trophies which was a Spanish Super Cup and another African Cup of Nations.

In the 9 seasons since he left, I have won every domestic league title, every domestic cup, 4 CL's, 1 club world championship & 1 UEFA Super Cup.

I know without Yirenkyi I have still played well, I've won so much but losing this guy for so cheap and to a club that achieved nothing has been so irritating. Even 11 seasons in, he's still better than any other CDM and would've started every single game for me.

I guess his bank balance grew... but his trophy cabinet didn't.

If anyone is just starting a FM24 save, buy this guy and make sure he doesn't have a release clause.

Did I miss out on this guy? (FM24)

I had this guy on my radar for a season or 2 now. He's always been at an A on the scout report with 4.5 star potential but his stats didn't seem amazing to me, I know he's only 19 and will obviously improve but at the time he didn't seem great.

All of a sudden, Augsburg buys him for dirt cheap, 9.75mill. If I knew he would go for that cheap I would've bought him, my scout report suggested his transfer value was between 25-35 million, if not more.

He has really good pros and his cons are a little concerning.

I'm guessing I missed out on a really good youth player here. I do have 130 million in my transfer budget but it's a big risk spending 84 million on a player that would probably expect to start majority of games but doesn't have the stats to deserve it.

I guess I could wait a few seasons for his stats to approve then activate his release clause?

Would you have taken £88 million for him? (FM24)

https://preview.redd.it/xohtdpinyubh1.png?width=1729&format=png&auto=webp&s=e96959a7c6209ce397e2a05e30ab9dbc7ee7fcac

Man united gave a few offers for Tyson, the largest amount being £88 million.
The reasons I didn't sell him is because as Celtic I struggle to find starting home-grown players, he is probably the best home-grown players I've got.
Another reason is he is young, if he stays at the club for the rest of his career he will easily reach 500+ games.
Also only 1 con which is poor heading ability

Would doing this work? FM24

My question is this, would I be able to Add new manager, select a team within the scottish league and send my young players to that team so they get player development and also home-grown status. (I have no idea how 'Add New Manager' works but hopefully it works like I think it does)

For context, I am now into my 11th season with Celtic. I am starting to struggle to find decent home-grown players, I know I can buy players 18 and under and within 3 years they will get home-grown status but they get annoyed about me disregarding their loans (outside of scottish league loans) and instead keeping them in the B team.

I do have an affiliate team, unfortunately, it is Hamilton. A team in the scottish championship which doesn't have the best reputation and decent potential youngsters don't want to go there.

Jean Evrard was supposed to be the replacement for my CB that I sold and I brought Kazimir in as a backup option.

Looking at the stats, I feel I should be starting Kazimir instead of Jean.

Kazimir has no cons, has an amibtious personality, he's accomplished at CB but is naturally a right full-back. I already have 3 amazing right backs and I think he would be better at CB.

Jean's con is wayward with his passing which is concerning, has a resilient personality.

Scottish Legend

https://preview.redd.it/j4iyaf95ep4h1.png?width=1333&format=png&auto=webp&s=e3d7c39a6f5355b8d1d523bdd09ed2fa769b930b

Kenny Dalglish & Dennis law Scottish legends scoring a record 30 goals for Scotland, however, my striker Lucas Clearie has now broken that record, scoring 31 goals in 47 games.

Clearie is a great striker, unfortunately, I've got a better striker starting ahead of him.

But at only 24, I'm sure he'll score a lot more goals for Scotland.

What happened to Matt O'Riley

Celtic fan here, hope its okay to post this here.

Was just wondering how come matt o'riley isn't getting a game for brighton? He was a very important player for us and had an amazing last season with us before leaving.

I know he went out on loan but I expected him to play more since he got an early return.

Any tips for saving players?

https://preview.redd.it/n1b8syw0cb2h1.png?width=394&format=png&auto=webp&s=b70bbad146d2436618aba4d422987d4b151fbac8

Currently 10 seasons into a Celtic save, I know the Scottish league doesn't have the best reputation but I've gotten Celtic to 5 star reputation and I have won the champions league 3 times in the last 5 seasons.

Why do players still want to leave? They've got good wages and I've got plenty of money to give them more.

This is literally the 3rd right-back in the last 2 seasons that i'm going to need to sell because they want to leave. I know I technically don't need to sell them but won't they perform bad since they'll be unhappy?
