How long does it take you to complete a season?

Just wondering what the average is for most. I've played FM sporadically throughout the years and am now on 26. I was wondering if it makes sense for me to build up for the future with smart purchases or just enjoy 1/2 seasons with veterans that will do the trick just because it might take me months to complete just those 1/2 seasons

Edit: Question is not regarding how to build the team, but how long is a season in real time. If it takes me 3 months to complete a season or say 60 hours, then in MY case it's not worth buidling a team for the future and I should just buy big stars even in their late 30's for the lols of one mega season.

10 hours into Fm26. I don't hate it...

Decided to grab it in the steam sale. I had held off because of all the talk around the release back in November.

I know the game is in a much better place now than what it was back thrn but I'm honestly wondering what all the commotion was about.

I like it, it's simpler and cleaner, without the information bloat of fm24. For someone who has 2 young children and a hectic life, fm26 fits my lifestyle better.

Being able to pick up the rog ally and play it has been a game changer. This wasn't really feasible with 24 and I was stuck to the desktop.

There are some things that make me go "hmmmm" like the sub menus running out of space and just having a "more" button to cover the rest. It's clearly a bad design choice.

But all in all I'm enjoying it very much. The tactics system is revolutionary. So much better.

Did half my team just get executed...

I am about to play 2 very important world cup qualifier games against Oman and China, which will decide if I go to the world cup or not. I had my squad ready and all i had to do was to press confirm squad. However all of a sudden my inbox gets flooded with players from my team "retiring", which confuses me cause

  1. Why would they retire before 2 important games?

  2. Why did they retire when they weren't even that old yet?

Well maybe kim jong got them ig

Sudden MASSIVE ATTRIBUTE INCREASE in young players???

For context: me and my friend have a FM26 online save. He recently signed a 17 year old player who already had really good stats. (Pictures included) The player was out on loan for a year and came back with a whopping 3-4 increase in most of his stats. Makes me wonder if this is even possible or is my friend doing something shady? I have had a similar experience with one of my players but he only got a increase of 1-2 in stats. Has anyone had something similar happen in their saves?

Messi at WC 26 in FM 26?

What have people done with Argentina to get the most out of Messi?

Just got through group stages with 9 points, Messi scored in all three games (off the bench v Jordan for last 30) but the team is not as fluid as I'd like, and I get Spain in the round of 32.

Going to play round of 32 match later tonight, probably between real life round of 16 games... any thoughts or tips on how to get the most out of Messi?

For me, I play on positive or balanced, really short passing and low tempo. Messi behind Lautaro with Fernandez, McAllister behind them. On the right i can have De Paul tucking in, or players a bit more adventerous like Buendia or Paz, with an overlapping fullback. On the left, either Alvarez as a wide forward or Nico Gonzales as a winger.

Right now, I alternate messi as a free role if the other team is expected to sit low, or Messi as an advanced playmaker if I think it's going to be a relatively even game. Out of possession we sit in a mid block and wait. It's a 4-4-2 but Messi is an outlet forward. Even though he's not fast, we generate chacnes through him on the counter fairly frequently.

Why can't I finsh these transfers??????

I bought FM 26 during the summer sale and am regretting it. Why on earth can I not make this transfer? I have transfer budget and I have payroll budget. This makes zero sense.

Edit: Added a comment but anyone seeing this later I have now learned budget in the parentheses are negative!

Boy this club is in a lot worse spot than I thought….

Is FM26 beginner-friendly for someone new to football management games?

I'm Japanese.

The World Cup has reignited my interest in soccer.

I’m thinking about playing a soccer/football game, and I was wondering: is FM26 recommended for beginners?

I’d be playing on either iOS or Steam/PC. I’m looking for more of a simulation/management game, not something where you directly control the players like eFootball.

As for my soccer knowledge, I have a general understanding of national teams, the Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, the J.League, the Premier League, and the Belgian league, but nothing too deep.

Would FM26 be a good place to start?

What’s the best value for money signing you’ve ever made?

I don’t want to hear no typical names like Saba Kharabeshwali (I spelt it wrong in 100% sure but pls forgive me), a signing that just came and started putting in a 7/10 bare minimum, it can be at any level, I want to hear your story 🙌🏼

I want to play FM26, but I just can't bring myself to do it

Hey everyone,

I’ve been playing FM since FM17 and usually do a few careers with specific teams every year. But this year, no matter how hard I try to force myself, I haven't even been able to finish a second season. Normally I easily go 2 or 3 seasons deep, but this time around, the motivation just isn't there. Part of me really wants to play, but another part just refuses to.

I even took a long break for about 2-3 months, but nothing changed. Has anyone else gone through the same thing, or does anyone have advice on how to overcome this burnout? Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to make this game harder?

As the title says, what do you guys do to make your saves more challenging?

I'm still a newer player, with only around 200 hours playtime. So far, I've won a treble with Chelsea, I've taken a North/South team to the prem with promotion every single season and finished 7th in my first season (post proof in my history). I took a little break and have been playing again since the WC has been on.

Currently I have a ManU save where I came in 3rd first season prem & am on track to win the Prem my 2nd season. And in another save I'm doing well first season in the bottom of the Indonesian league.

At ManU, we are -400M in debt, but it doesn't matter because we get so much money from winning & it feels like I can't lose most matches. Even when I watch most content creators, it doesn't seem like they ever lose either. So what are you guys doing to make a more realistic experience? I shouldn't be able to take a North/South team with no money and just grind to the prem and qualify for Europe while being told I'm bottom of the table in predictions every season.

Might actually be the biggest downfall of a Club I've ever seen in FM

Somehow Hamburg has managed being relegated from the highest tier in german Football to the 4th highest within 3 year, placing 17th in the Table now, just three points away from the 5th tier. It say's in their milestones tab that they filed for Insolvency on the 03.01.2038, which I suspect acted as a catalyst (even though they weren't forcefully relegated, but probably led to a point reduction).

They still get around 30.000 Fans on average in Homegames to their Volksparkstadion last I checked, went semi-pro, sold their youth Facilities and now have godawful training facilities. Somehow though, their Youth Recruiting has remained above average.

I'm somewhat tempted to create a new Coach for them and take them back to glory.
