Game awarded me the most offside goal ever

Doing a 00/01 career and the game awarded me this goal. How is Montella not offside lmao? I thought the game couldn't grasp the notion of a player obstructing the view of the keeper, but then I realized my player would have been offside anyway since he was meters offside when his teammate headed the ball towards the goal.

Hopefully the game doesn't give me a receipt lol

FM24. What are your tips for youth development.

Usually, I just give experience by loan or sporadic first team appearances, but is there anything more passive to be working on? Training for example? Any special examples in your save?

Spanish Nationality but no EU status?

Managing Malaga in La Liga and I've got a Brazilian player who's been at the club over 2 years, not on loan anywhere. Brazilian players get spanish nationality after 2 years and I can see this in the first image. However when I try to register him he still counts as non-EU.

Have I not understood the rules right or is this a bug?

I'll lose my mind shortly: Andorra's world domination save STARTING

For my last save of fm24 I decided I will build a nation and get it to win the worlds. I'll use the https://fmdaveincid.com/ megapack for FM24 and a Database from September 2025.

Looking at internet I found the San Marino's Challenge; I thought to myself "No, don't, that's death" so I searched for similar clubs and found Andorra, the ultimate goal is to win world cup with its selection, but how?, I'll train their club to form a beast over years of hard work and wanting to quit due to suffering. Editor off, in the screenshots you'll see the pencil not active. And I'll avoid Gegenpressing to make it a bit harder.

I'll make 2 managers ( I'll make them unsackables because I don't want to worry about it). For the firsts years (5 or so) I'll simulate the Andorran Nation manager and focus on the team. I'll be using AI to make some pictures to have more inmersion if anyone opposes to this, just don't follow it, it's my way of playing.

From the 6th season on:

- Try to sell all players non andorran or at least not homegrown between 15-21.
- Play with only Andorran or players that came through youth system (Like Bilbao)
- If I can't sell a nonplayable player by the latter rules I'll but them onto the s-19 or second team until they go free, finally sell or retire
- I have to try HARD to get the andorran retired players as staff, and eventually have all the staff be Andorran too

Achivements I have to make:

Andorra FC

Finish 10th+ in LaLiga2
Reach LaLiga2 Playoffs
Obtain the promotion to LaLiga
Avoid relegation
Finish 17th+ without fighting for relegation
Finish Midtable
Finish 10th+
Get into an European Cup
Finals - Semi Finals of La copa del Rey
Finish 4th+ to enter the UCL
Be competitive in the UCL
Win La Copa del Rey
Reach final draft of the UCL
Beat RM or Barça in the league, that means finishing +2nd
Win LaLiga

Andorran National Team

The goal here is to win the worlds cup, I'm not really into the national management as only I played once with a selection so i think it goes like this:

Qualify for the Nations League
Qualify for the EURO
Be competitive in the World Cups qualifiers
Reach final bracket on the Nations
Reach final bracket on the EURO
Reach groups stage on the Worlds Cup
Win something
Win the Fifa Worlds Cup

I'll be a long journey until I get there but you know, without sacrifice there's no victory (Thank you Witwicky).

I'll be updating my Journey season through season and maybe lone posts if I have to rage. Anyone who wants to give advice or criticise is welcomed, but don't be a dick.

As you sure noticed English is not my first language but I try, sorry for any misspell and structure writing.

I always do one save a year. For this save, I had a Wikipedia style recap written.

Skrrt Cobain

Skrrt Cobain (born February 1, 1997) is an American–Czech former professional football manager and former amateur player. Widely regarded as one of the most successful managers of his generation, Cobain was known for his direct, high-intensity tactical philosophy, favoring vertically oriented football, aerial progression, and disciplined mid-block defensive structures. Across a managerial career spanning 23 years, he won league titles in Iceland, Austria, England, and Italy, culminating in victory in the UEFA Champions League with Bologna FC 1909 in 2049.

Cobain began his managerial career in Iceland with Fjölnir, guiding the club to promotion in 2027. He later established himself in Scandinavian football with Kristiansund BK before winning the Austrian Bundesliga with FK Austria Wien in 2034. After mixed spells with AC Milan and FC St. Pauli, Cobain achieved his greatest domestic success at West Ham United F.C., leading the club to its first-ever Premier League title and an FA Cup triumph.

His final managerial chapter came at Bologna, where he oversaw one of the club’s most successful periods, winning consecutive Serie A titles, three Supercoppa Italiana trophies, the Coppa Italia, and the UEFA Champions League. He retired from management on June 20, 2049, aged 52.

Early life and playing career

Cobain was born on February 1, 1997, in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, United States. He holds both American and Czech nationality.

As a player, Cobain was an amateur goalkeeper, spending time with LASC and NYIFC. His final appearance came in the summer of 2026 in a friendly in London, played before a crowd of approximately 1,000 spectators.

Though his playing career never progressed beyond the amateur level, Cobain later credited his experiences as a goalkeeper with shaping his managerial understanding of defensive organization and transitional play.

Managerial career

Fjölnir

Cobain was appointed manager of Icelandic second-tier club Fjölnir on September 1, 2026, marking the beginning of his managerial career.

He oversaw only three matches during the closing stages of the 2026 season, posting a 1–0–2 record.

In 2027, Cobain guided Fjölnir to the 1. deild karla title, securing promotion after collecting 23 points from the club’s final nine league matches. His turnaround earned him Icelandic Coach of the Year honors.

Fjölnir were relegated from the top flight on the final day of the 2028 season, after which Cobain departed the club on December 24, 2028. He finished with an overall record of 25 wins, 13 draws, and 28 losses.

Kristiansund BK

Cobain was appointed manager of Norwegian top-flight side Kristiansund BK on December 24, 2028.

After consecutive mid-table finishes in 2029 and 2030, Kristiansund emerged as one of Norway’s strongest clubs under Cobain. In 2031, the club finished third in the Eliteserien, securing European qualification for the first time after winning five of their final six league matches.

Kristiansund repeated their third-place finish in 2032–33 while simultaneously enjoying a notable run in the UEFA Europa Conference League. They progressed through qualifying with a perfect 6–0–0 record and posted a 3–1–2 record in the league phase, highlighted by a 2–0 victory over Sevilla FC.

In the knockout stages, Cobain’s side overturned a first-leg deficit against Olympiacos F.C. before narrowly losing to Manchester United F.C. in extra time at Old Trafford in the round of 16.

Cobain departed Kristiansund on March 31, 2033, with a record of 76–28–48, and was named runner-up for Norwegian Coach of the Year in both 2031 and 2032.

FK Austria Wien

Cobain was appointed manager of FK Austria Wien on March 31, 2033.

Upon his arrival, the club was competing in the Austrian Bundesliga relegation stage. He successfully preserved Austria Wien’s top-flight status by recording a 2–2–2 finish.

In the 2033–34 season, Cobain overhauled the squad, bringing 13 former Kristiansund players with him. Key contributors included Vidar Flatjord, Lorenzo De Leo, David Delgado, and Jonas Gaup.

Austria Wien won nine of their final twelve league matches to secure the Austrian Bundesliga title, their first since 2012–13.

Cobain was named both Austrian Head Coach of the Year (VdF) and Krone Coach of the Year before leaving on June 26, 2034.

AC Milan

Cobain was appointed manager of AC Milan on June 26, 2034.

His tenure proved difficult, as Milan struggled defensively despite maintaining attacking productivity. The club fell to 15th in Serie A, and Cobain was dismissed on January 28, 2035, with a record of 6–4–12.

Following his dismissal, Cobain stated it was “to great regret” that he had not been afforded more time, expressing confidence he could have returned the club to European contention.

FC St. Pauli

Cobain returned to management on May 30, 2035, joining German 2. Bundesliga side FC St. Pauli.

He cited the club’s left-wing political identity and supporter culture as a major factor in accepting the role.

In his first full season, St. Pauli finished seventh while scoring a league-high 74 goals, and also reached the DFB-Pokal semi-finals.

Cobain left the club early in the 2036–37 season, ending his tenure with a record of 26–6–21.

West Ham United

On November 12, 2036, Cobain was appointed manager of his lifelong supported club, West Ham United.

He inherited a team deep in relegation trouble and initially struggled, winning only one of his first 17 league matches. However, a 4–3 victory over Newcastle United F.C. on February 28, 2037 sparked a revival, and West Ham secured survival after going 7–2–2 in their final eleven matches.

Cobain extensively rebuilt the squad, bringing in several trusted former players, including Vidar Flatjord, Victor Orakpo, and Lorenzo De Leo.

Rise to Europe

In 2037–38, West Ham finished fifth, qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in club history.

The following season, despite finishing 11th domestically, the club excelled in Europe, going 5–2–1 in the Champions League league phase before being eliminated by FC Barcelona.

After a ninth-place finish in 2039–40, West Ham improved to third in 2040–41, earning Cobain his first Premier League Manager of the Season award.

Premier League title and FA Cup

The 2041–42 season marked the pinnacle of Cobain’s West Ham tenure.

West Ham won their first-ever Premier League title, winning 29 matches and scoring a league-record 116 goals. They also defeated Tottenham Hotspur F.C. 1–0 in the FA Cup final, completing a domestic double.

The team was led by forward Víctor López, who recorded 21 goals and 19 assists in 32 league appearances.

In Europe, West Ham defeated AC Milan 7–0 on aggregate before losing to Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Cobain won a second consecutive Premier League Manager of the Season award.

Final season and departure

West Ham opened 2042–43 by defeating Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. 5–1 in the FA Community Shield.

They reached the Champions League semi-finals before losing to Villarreal CF and finished eighth domestically.

Cobain departed following the expiration of his contract on May 31, 2043, having become the club’s all-time winningest manager with a record of 178–40–110.

Cádiz

After a year away from football, Cobain was appointed manager of Cádiz CF on June 20, 2044.

The spell proved disappointing. Following an 11–6–19 record, he was dismissed on March 26, 2045.

Cobain later described his inability to succeed in Andalusia as one of the greatest regrets of his managerial career, citing his affection for the region.

Bologna

Cobain was appointed manager of Bologna on July 7, 2045.

Rebuilding and early success

His tenure began slowly, with Bologna failing to win any of their opening five Serie A matches and first five Champions League league-phase fixtures.

The club’s fortunes shifted dramatically in December 2045, embarking on a 16–3–1 run across all competitions. Bologna won the Supercoppa Italiana, defeating S.S.C. Napoli 2–1 after extra time.

They later defeated Real Madrid CF on penalties in Europe before losing to Paris Saint-Germain.

Serie A dominance

Between May 13, 2046, and January 12, 2048, Bologna went 58 consecutive league matches unbeaten, matching the Serie A record set by AC Milan under Fabio Capello.

In 2046–47, Bologna won their first Serie A title since 1963–64, finishing with a 34–4–0 record and a league-record 106 points.

They retained the title in 2047–48 with a 34–1–3 campaign.

Cobain was named Serie A Coach of the Year in all three of his final seasons (2046–47, 2047–48, 2048–49).

UEFA Champions League triumph

Following speculation linking him with Barcelona, Cobain rejected the opportunity, citing “unfinished business” at Bologna.

In 2048–49, Bologna finished second in Serie A but completed the greatest European campaign in club history.

They defeated Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16, overturned a first-leg deficit to eliminate Cobain's former club, West Ham United, and beat FC Bayern Munich in the semi-finals.

On the final, held at Bakı Olimpiya Stadionu in Azerbaijan, Bologna defeated Manchester City F.C. 3–0 to win the UEFA Champions League, with striker Mattias Proietti scoring twice.

Weeks later, Bologna won the Coppa Italia with a 4–0 victory over ACF Fiorentina.

Cobain announced his retirement on June 20, 2049, ending his Bologna tenure with a record of 162–26–41.

Managerial style

Cobain’s teams were known for their direct and highly vertical football.

Typically deploying a 5–3–2 formation, his sides often defended in a structured mid-block before transitioning quickly into attack, frequently utilizing aerial progression and early forward passing.

Despite limited possession—his unbeaten Bologna side averaged only 36%—Cobain’s teams were noted for efficiency, defensive compactness, and ruthless transitional finishing.

He was also known for repeatedly recruiting trusted players across multiple clubs, building continuity through tactical familiarity and loyalty.

Personal life

Cobain is married to Blair Becerra, who was frequently seen attending matches throughout his managerial career.

Politically, he is known for left-wing views and publicly expressed admiration for the supporter culture of FC St. Pauli, Rayo Vallecano and Livorno.

Cobain is fluent in English and Spanish and also speaks conversational Italian and Czech.

Following retirement, he relocated to Mexico City, where he is frequently seen attending matches of Club Universidad Nacional (UNAM Pumas).

League logos driving me insane! Help!

After 300 plus hours on 26, I've given up as the bugs are endless and unless you save literally every few in game days eventually your game will corrupt itself and break so I've returned to FM24.

I download my packs from sortitout si and whatever reason I've managed to install skins, backgrounds, player faces, club badges, updated league data, kits, 3d kits and just to wind me up no matter what logo pack I download, the small badges in the league table wont change!!

Please can someone save my sanity

Recently learned about the game, is FM26 my only option?

Everything I’ve read says FM24 is way better, but it’s delisted on Steam and there’s no third party keys available. Should I just get FM26?

reddit.com

Interested in playing Football Manager, but don't know which one to choose.

Hi all! For some time now (1 year or so), I've been meaning to buy FM and start my journey, but I have a few questions for you more experienced people:

- I went to buy it on Steam but saw the abysmal reviews and was reluctant to buy it. Which in your experience is the better one without going to FM11?

- If I bought a previous FM, would I be able to have all teams up to date with the transfer market today?

- Where can I buy previous FM versions? In steam, only the last one and I think 11 were there.

- Do you have any Youtuber recommendation to watch videos and start learning the ropes?

Thank you for your help!

Role Help

I'm in my second season in my second Barcelona Save. So I was thinking of converting Lamine Yamal into a false 9 after Lewa leaves but his false nine star rating is really low while channel forward is really high. I haven't tried the False 9 role yet so I wanted to try it here. So should I just use the recommended channel forward or does the star rating as usual doesn't matter here cuz I think he the attributes for it. Or any other recommendations???

Tactics help- not consistent

I am in my third season with Bayern Munich after joining from villa. My save is weird as Frankfurt have won the league 3 years in a row now and Bayern hired me with no European experience at all and gave me low expectations due to Frankfurt’s weird dominance(I lost the league and got an email saying I got the most points in history to not win it). They play a 442 which beats me everytime. I finally found a tactic to beat them twice. I just now played them in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup and used the same tactic but lost 2-1 and faced 21 shots. They looked like PSG and prime Barca at once. Basically I know the AI adapts but what should I have done? I changed roles and nothing helped. Should I have switched formations? This AI is too confusing for me to win the league, just finish 2nd.

25 Man Top Level “Shithouse” Team?

Inspired by Jose Mourinho returning to Real Madrid, and his love for an absolute shithouse player, I have an idea to start a new game as Real Madrid and build a shithouse team, but, the players have to be good enough, not some League Two standard shithouses

So far, I’ve thought of Emi Martinez, Marc Cucurella, Cristian Romero, Antonio Rudiger, Enzo Fernandez, Alexis Mac Allister (honestly people sleep on his shithousery!), Vinicius Jr, Kylian Mbappe, Federico Valverde … those are the ones that immediately spring to mind, but I know there are so many more out there that I’m having a brain fart on! I mean, Serie A is traditionally full of shithouses but I’m drawing a blank for some reason

So, any suggestions??

Realistic move in manager career?

As the title states, I am wanting to make a move within the next season or two and I’m stuck on exactly what league/country to move to. Whether that be a lateral move, or a slight “upgrade”.

Currently I manage an Austrian side that started in the low leagues (downloaded a database). After a few seasons of successful seasons (it’s quite easy in the low leagues) I have started to think about making a move to another country. While I do enjoy this team that I have built, I also want to make a move in the sense of the managers career.

My ultimate goal would be to coach a team in Serie A. Maybe a team like Roma or Fiorentina. With that in mind, I was thinking about making a move to a Serie B/Serie C Italian side and bringing them up to Serie A then making that move.

However, I’ve also never played in certain leagues and that made me curious as to what I may be missing out on. What leagues would people recommend? In terms of the career path, what league would be good for a lateral/upgrade type move?

Advanced Playmaker or Shadow Striker?

I currently play a 4-2-3-1, and for the AM role, I'm struggling to pick which one to use between the two. What I basically want is an alternative to the false 9, someone who helps the midfield in transition and helps progress the ball into the final third, who also tries to score for himself.

According to their FM descriptions, these roles both do one thing and not the other. Advanced playmaker advances the ball, but not as goal hungry as I'd like him to be. Shadow Striker is goal hungry, but doesn't sound like someone who can help in transition.

Who should I pick?

Everton in FM 26

Can anyone explain to me why Everton seem to play like Real Madrid when I play them. Their defence appears to be impregnable, their 3 attacking players behind the striker all dribble like prime Ronaldinho and Thierno Barry is better than Haaland. The ball goes up to him and he gets past about 4 defenders around him. It is ridiculous.
